Once again though it suggests that as bad as Aviles is at SS he must be downright terrible at 3rd. Why else would you put Aviles at SS when you have Ciriaco? If he is that bad at 3rd then why is playing 3rd still part of his resume'? SS is clearly a far more important defensive position and Aviles can't carry Ciriaco's shoe laces at SS.

This is easily the most fouled up Red Sox organization, top to bottom I have seen in a long long time. I am happy to see Ciriaco at 3rd instead of Valencia but it still makes no sense to have Aviles at SS and Ciriaco at 3rd.

Maybe they finally realize they are toast for the season at this point and just want to see what Ciriaco looks like at 3rd.

Very good point Native. Somebody was making the point today (not sure where I heard it) that these guys are going to look really stupid if that elbow actually does pop on CC. Then the surgical repair and rehab ends up carrying well into next season and for what...they are not going to catch up even with the second WC.

CC has had a nice little run here. Get the surgery done....what the hell are they waiting for.

Some people have said that TJ recovery would be much shorter for a position player than a pitcher. Maybe the off season is enough time. He could get the surgery October 1st. There will be no play offs to worry about.

I guess another option would have been to put Ciriaco at SS and Valencia on 3rd. Get to have a look at him.

As has already been mentioned, this season is all but over, might as well start thinking about next year's options.

I've always heard 5-6 months for position players. So much less strain on their arm than having to throw 100+ pitches to a tiny spot with cut or curve. So if Crawford went in on 10/1, you could expect him back by 3/1 or 4/1.

Personally I say get the surgery done now so that he's back and ready for ST next year, and it gives you a bit of a cushion for any setbacks. Also it takes the ball out of the FO's hand, because I guarantee you that Cherrington is still trying to push Crawford into rest and rehab for his elbow.

I hate the Guardians caps. Bring back the Indian logo.

If it were up to me, I would. Always wear my Chief Wahoo stuff proudly. Screw the people who cry "racist!".

Geez Remy please do not mention Frank's name and Lester's name in the same sentence. Don't want any Lesterness rubbing off on him.

And.....

Ortiz not starting tomorrow because he has pain running forward....Jerry and Don having fun with that one....since it would seem to have made at least as much sense to have announced that Ortiz is having trouble "running". Why qualify it "running forward".

I like Morales leaving letter high fastball, much tougher to make contact than down and in. If you got it, BRING IT. If they begin to make contact, you change it. Lester NEVER change the batters eyes level. Everything is set up down and middle in.

Damn...that was unlucky....not the best base running but that is sort of Monday morning quarterbacking.

Do they use the C cap when they are wearing these more simplistic looking graphics uniforms? Maybe the uni caps fit with the rest of the uni.
