I would be surprised to see Ace tonight with this lead.

The Sox must have been overcome with emotion and renewed passion for the game knowing that their beloved manager V will be here for the rest of the year. Yea.....thats it.....thats the ticket.....

Is this our 1 in 20 when they actually look like an MLB team?

Even if they turn things around the rest of the season, they have their work cut out for them in the offseason.

Tonight's approach at the plate should be their approach each and every night. The results my not always be there like tonight, but with the offensive talent, this will get them the 4-5 runs per game they need more times than not. So far, they have followed games like this up with long stretches of going through the motions at the plate.

Pitching will have to make some serious adjustments for this team to go on any type of run.

Has anyone seen Gonzo's Post ASB numbers?? They are absolutely ridiculous.

Coming into tonight, he was hitting .392/.435/.608, 5 HR, 21 RBI in 21 games since the ASB.

He had 6 HR the entire 1st half (86 games).

He's finally making an effort to earn his money. They are not ridiculous numbers, because they are only for a month. Ortiz had better than 1.000 OPS for the season.

Over 21 games? That's a pace for 40 HR, 165 RBI. That's monstrous production.

If he put up a 40 HR/165 RBI season and hit .390, I would say it would be ridiculous. I know it's only been a month, but he's mashing right now. It's actually pretty hard to believe that he's gotten his average up to .307 after that horrendous start.

Soto misses a Brodway fastball to complete a very good game to watch. Nice all around performance tonight.

Why the hell is Punto playing 1st?

By playing second or short, his standing on one side of the infield has created a vortex of suck. He has to create one on the other side, so the opposing forces will balance each other out and the field will not be torn in half and swallowed up into the giant tear in the fabric of the space-time continuum.

Good win.

Makes me sick to think we dropped 3/4 to the Twins. We should have won 3/4. That would have put us at 57-54, and we would be 1 game out of the WC after tonight's A's/Angels game.

I wish I had not been out earlier but it looks like they have actually been patient, hit behind runners, sacrificed on occasion. moved runners along....things that they generally do so seldom that the game strikes you like an oasis would in the middle of a desert.

and Cook for the time I saw him seemed to hardly make a mistake and could even sneak a high heater past somebody on occasion.

On the other side of the coin even with his 9 K's Yu seemed sort of brutal as far as some of the juicy pitches he was serving up.

Dempster/Lester should be interesting tomorrow night.

Yep, and Kinsler went 0-3. Not to mention Hamilton and Young going 1-4 with no RBIs and Darvish getting roughed up.

It's been a good night.

Atleast I can go to work tomorrow with a small ounce of pride.

See how long that lasts...

Cruz still found a way to continue mashing against us, so this must be real.

Work in progress...

Don't bash Cruz, he's on my fantasy team and I got 6 points out of him and 2 from Michael Young.
