Sadly' date=' this is the type of outcry I've heard all year here in Dallas. While there are some knowledgeable Rangers fans, the vast majority would be considered "pink hats" by many on this board. With the Cowboys struggles in recent years, many sports fans in the area have jumped aboard. In the past, the Rangers were just a distraction until training camp begins.[/quote']

and the Cowboys are probably going to be good this year.

or, Dez Bryant will self-destruct, Romo will be himself, and Miles Austin will lose the ball in the lights and they'll crash & burn again! I feel like this is more likely. Eagles will win that division. NYGiants will be 8-8 or worse & no playoffs.

Obviously i'm hungry for football.

The Red Sox Roller-coaster Season continues.

Fantastic effort tonight by the Sox, props to Cook for keeping the ball down so far, and hooray for performing at your best in your HOMETOWN!!

They'll probably get swept by the Guardians in the next series.

Boy Yu started the year with so much promise. Does anybody know if this is how he has been pitching lately? Ryan must be pullin' his chest hair out (not much up top anymore).

See my earlier post about being patient with him and his similarities to Dice K.

Salty can't catch Dice K and can't hit Darvish.

I was thinking the same. If they win 2 against Texas they'll have to drop 2 to the Guardians. I suppose they could take two from the Guardians but afterwards, a four to five game lose streak would be inevitable. Oh well, thus is the Red Sox 2012. Offensive inconsistency and deflated pitching (however, Buchholz looks like our version of King Felix now, so props).

Next season could be great though (like this season right? ha): Doubront will improve with less walks. Lester looks like he's figuring it out (we'll see) so he should bounce back to perform to his elite level next season (pitching is tough, down seasons happen...), and who knows if Morales can be a starter, then there is Free Agency. I'm positive for next season. I hope CC performs like his TB years.

What about Doubront?

It's inherited. During World War Two, Saltalamacchia's grandfather spent the entire battle of Iwo Jima asking for directions, then died when a grenade he threw bounced off of the only tree within five miles and landed at his feet.

Nice to see the Tiggers taking out the trash tonight. We all have to remember that we get to watch the bankee$ flame out in the post season this year, one of my favorite things to see in the fall.

If I were Aaron Cook I would be teabagging the wives, girlfriends, or sisters of almost everyone here tonight. Suck it, haters!

No, but seriously, good job by Cook. I know he's not the best, but still, we needed this win.

I'm positive about next season too if the FO can:

A) Move Atleast one of the Lackey/Beckett duo to change the arrogant culture among the starters. Going to have to eat some cash and will be tough to move Lackey coming off injury, but it has to be done. Even if the guy succeeds elsewhere, we can be certain the success would not come here and it's the price of getting out from under one of Theo's biggest blunders.

B) Sincerely find a way to better condition and prepare the team for the season and during the season. It seems half of the injuries from the last 3 seasons are preventable, the other part of the game. Cutting down the preventable injuries and the siclical effect of the random injuries should keep the key players on the field. Preparation goes back to getting the players all on 1 agenda: doing what's best for the team to win games. Once that happens, the talent on the team will play on the field and show in the standings.

C) Don't bank on the current pitching staff improving and add depth.

Those are pretty reasonable possibilities.

Hey. Remember when everyone was all "No chance that Crawford should replace Nava"?

Yeah. I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I have always backed Crawford.

Contrary to popular belief around here, talent doesn't just fall off a cliff out of nowhere.

It kind of bothers me that this team is playing like it should tonight on a day where Henry had to do massive damage control to the press. It makes you wonder what could have been.

I think it was in that Tigers series that we saw more pitchers doing this but I am amazed at the number of pitchers coming inside to Crawford and not just inside under the hands trying to make it easier to get him out with the low and away but really catching a lotta' plate inside. Not sure what they are trying to do nor why anybody would pitch Carl that way.

If you watch ells on the base paths, he wastes nothing. You don't usually see him taking wide or ungainly looking turns. He saves himself tons of time and distance the way he runs.

He's amazing. It would suck to lose him.

Has anyone seen Gonzo's Post ASB numbers?? They are absolutely ridiculous.

Coming into tonight, he was hitting .392/.435/.608, 5 HR, 21 RBI in 21 games since the ASB.

He had 6 HR the entire 1st half (86 games).

So how long is it going to take for Ace to f*** up the 8 run lead? lol

Considering that he won't pitch, very long.
