Flags look to be dead quite. Must have had some spin going the other way on that ball by Shop as it confused the hell out of the CF.

I think the triangle just really screwed him up honestly.

Shop was actually on the binders at about half way between 2nd and 3rd trying to make it look like he needed to put the binders on to keep from barreling into 3rd.....sure Shop you were going to be barreling into 3rd alright.

I had to close my eyes but it was a stand up triple. A 10!

Buchholz: 3.04 ERA in his last 12 starts' date=' including today. Since the ASB, he's got a 1.57 ERA.[/quote']

It looks like we finally have our ace:thumbsup:

Now that they have Grienke' date=' I'd have to agree.[/quote']

The odd thing about the Angels is they'd be better off without Pujols. Trumbo and Morales are enough. And the Sox might be better off without AdGon. Rizzo just hit another HR tonite--

Epstein is pretty slippery, eh? Trades Rizzo, gets fired, gets him back.B)

Have called Buch to finish the year the ace of the staff as long as he did not get hurt again for a couple of months now mainly because Beckett has been going sideways and Lester has been going backwards. For my money, Buch was way ahead of both of them once he had regained confidence in the mechanical/physical stability of his back.

What's up people. Decent outing from Buch again .. he has definitely stepped up his game. The rest of the guys need to follow now

Yeh, Buch as the ace is pretty much a no doubter.

In a 1 game playoff, I'd put Buchholz up against any pitcher in the MLB and feel comfortable with our chances.

Good job. Now send Padilla out there and give A his day off.

Now let Buccholz finish the game. 108 pitches thru 8. But we don't do things like that around here.

I don't think Oswalt is getting attention because he was he last of the pitchers out there as much as some folks really wanted Oswalt with others totally rejecting the notion as soon as the nature of his back injury was better understood. Some folks thought the back issue should not prevent a deal from happening and others vigorously disagreed.

There were without question other options in the offseason. The only discussions I remember about Oswalt were discussions about whether Oswalt was an option at all regardless of his being the last guy out there. Should have done something to mitigate the starting pitching issues long before Oswalt was the last guy standing or maybe laying down is more appropriate.:D:D

There were a lot of guys that I would have preferred: Kuroda, Jackson and Gio. They were all good values, and the first two were available late into the off season.

Decent?? 8 IP, 2 ER against a lineup that includes Austin Jackson, Prince Fielder, and Miggy Cabrera is damn good IMO.

Remember a couple seasons ago when everyone was clamoring to trade Clay?

I really hope Crawford turns things around, just like Clay has, so we can all laugh at the people who want to get rid of him after one bad season due to acclimation and now injury. Signs a long-term contract and the first year isn't great, and suddenly a decade of being a top-tier player in Tampa is erased. I hope in 2013-14 everyone realizes how ridiculous it was to be talking about trading away Crawford so early into things.

Anyways, great to see Clay pitching like an ace. If Lester can get back on track the Sox may just make the playoffs yet.

Well, Gio would have required Middlebrooks to be traded. I wouldn't have been comfortable with that.

Kuroda was a good option, though.
