This organization is probably going to be best off in the long run waiting until the offseason to address the problems with this team and just let this season ride itself out. The market is extremely reactionary right now with the ransoms being asked for rental players. Just imagine the asking price for players that will actually help this team. Will it even be worth it?

The focus should be long term sustainable winning teams and not just an attempt at a 1 year fix that may not even be possible. Culture change, conditioning programs that actually keep players on the field, and PITCHING.

Above all, baseball should be the number 1 focus. At least in the public's eyes, there is a significant feeling that the focus has been elsewhere at times in the past few years.

Doubront sucks

I would hate to see how bad this game would be if Lester and Beckett were in. When your pitching against the Rangers offense you know your pitcher won't have the best stats. Which is why you hope your offense brings their a game. Clearly we haven't so far.

CAN WE NOT HIT f***ING AT ALL?!?!?

God. This is infuriating. This guy is a f***ing piece of s*** bum. He's a spot starter with an ERA close to 6. What the f*** offense. I'm f***ing sick of it.

He is a lot more than I expected of him, he would be a great back of the rotation guy behind some real pitchers.

Do not waste your time getting angry my friend. This team doesn't worth it.

The difference between these two teams just in offensive concept and cohesiveness seems to be miles. Their fast guys do steal bases....our fast guys steal bases...sometimes. Their hitters get hits in key situations....ours seem to fail all to often with the exception of Ortiz. We score lots of runs but can't buy them when we need them.

It all does start with the starting pitching though and part of their reluctance to do anything but play for the big inning surely relates to the lack of confidence in the pitching. That combined with the number of times trying to manufacture a run has blown up in V's face in the form of poorly executed bunts, sacrifices and all manner of offensive play failures has I think made V pull his horns in completely.

I think the last straw for V was that missed Punto bunt a few weeks ago where I think he ended up popping the bunt up into a double play for the first two outs of an inning and then the next guy up did something equally stupid to end the inning with no runs scored from having two on and nobody out. To be honest I think that was the last time V tried to do something other than just send them up to the plate one at a time with an instruction to hit the damn thing somewhere.

I won't spend any time on the defense in this post although I think you all by now what I think of that.

all I can do is laugh when watching Aviles hit

I'm sorry but I see no reason for Aviles to still be getting so much time at SS. I did not like him there when he was hitting cause I knew that had a shelf life. Now that he is no longer hitting, there is simply no reason for him to be in the lineup.

I agree. Zero reason for Aviles to get PT.

Stick freaking Iglesias at SS.

I'd rather have Iglesias up here honestly, I know the kid can't hit but I can't stand Aviles.

The Sox have looked so much worse since they started this stretch against AL East and/or better baseball teams. But this so falls on Beckett and Lester. The Sox had a nice little run going after the ASB, looking like it could be the start of a longer run and BANG Lester and Beckett gave up monster runs in the first innings of back to back games....the offense failed to respond....Cook had a less than sterling outing and the bullpen failed in that game and before you know it, the run is done, they are back to 500 and back in the basement.

That's what hitters do. Foul pitches inside off and look for one later to clean out. Youk does this as well, getting long AB and later hit one far.

Wait' date=' this isn't over. Maybe the team can comeback here to disappoint us again later this season.[/quote']
