While it looks like these guys are a mimic for each other, Beckett is right now making more good pitches than Karoda is. Hopefully we can take advantage. Punto must be beside himself

I'd give him a pass is he was doing mediocre in AAA' date=' but he was crushing it. He's pressing hard right now swinging at crap.[/quote']

He's called up from AAA, which, while the highest level of the minors, is still the minors. In his second game he's playing in a slugfest in the most nationally recognized rivalry in sports history. It's like a kid graduating basic training one day and being dropped into the middle of the invasion of Normandy the next day. Relax. He'll either start hitting or he'll get sent back down. He's surrounded by veteran hitters who I'm sure will help him straighten out his approach.

pathetic 3rd inning--Kuroda sitting on the outside corner, and Gomez, Aviles swinging futilely.

Ryan Howard is in the Phillies lineup tonite--earlier than expected. They felt his presence was more meaningful than a few more games in the minors. They are feeling the heat.

Too bad the Red Sox front office doesn't think like that. I'd rather see Ells and CC making outs in this series than in Portland. The mentality of the Red Sox is winning games isn't important until September.

It's been like that in recent years. They do not feel the heat.

Damn cody knows he has trouble with RH pitchers..why still try to pull somethin' like that...just take it to right

More wasted opportunities. You cannot do that against good teams.

Especially considering this guy is still throwing like s*** for the most part...I hate it when they insist on trying to pull when they should not and just plain do not make good plate appearances.

Well there is our 1 opportunity to see a hitter hit something that was not a mistake...Arod earned his money on that hit.

In that case though you really can't think Salty had a shot at digging it out of the ground and then throwing the guy out at second....he should have handled it cleanly but likely had no shot at Arod

Man i know those are a little off the plate but tough to see Beckett not get those for strikes. I would rather see Josh careful here and at worse get the DP back in play.
