My biggest concern for Pedey like this is that the thing throbs all year long and does not allow him to really play like we know he can. To 700's point even as he is, Pedey is about twice a Punta and about half the Pedey we need.

How many PA's does punto have?

My post was mostly tongue in cheek. However, I do think Pedroia's injury is going to nag for the whole season if he keeps playing hurt. It might be wise to DL him if they want him later in the season.

Don't you think, that with all the injuries we already have, that they'd have DL'd him already if there was any great chance of him exacerbating the injury?

Why the hell are we all acting like this is Pedroia's first time to go through a spell like this where he struggles for an extended period of time??

April 23 - June 4, 2011: 37 Games, .204/.307/.263

May 1 - June 9, 2010: 36 Games, .212/.322/.329

May 27 - June 28, 2009: 28 Games, .207/.268/.284

I mean honestly. How many times does it have to happen before we stop freaking out about it??

I don't know. Pedroia seems to have a lot of leeway, maybe he wants to play through it.

Its the slump in combination with the injury.

You think he was just slumping any of those other times and not hurt?? He slumps because he's playing through injuries. Every single year, you can point to a string of games and say "He was grinding out an injury right here". Every year.

How can he sit down ever again?

Youkilis has to be seeing the handwriting on the wall.

And he should be seeing the time of departure on the plane ticket soon.

I KNOW he is hurt this year; AND he is slumping. He should heal up and come back stronger.
