With the Red sox hitters Stuggling and seeing that some of sox fans want Bobby Valentine's head on a plate. Like with the Angels letting go there long time hitting coach could the same happen to Dave Magadan???

The Red Sox are 2nd in the majors in runs, and 5th in OPS, all without Ross, Ellsbury, and Crawford. Red Sox hitters have always done a good job. No reason to blame Magadan because of injuries and Gonzalez.

Maggadan isn't the problem. The offense is off balanced because they've played against Strasburg, Josh Johnson, Gonzalez, Buerhle, Zimmerman, and Dempster, all with guys like Podsednik, Nava, Aviles, Mcdonald in the lineup. If there is one coach on this team worth a damn that would be Maggadan.

I do not believe that Mags will be blamed for this mess and if he is blamed it will be a monster injustice. I think there may be some things Mags could do better but I can only say that because there are things the Sox do not do that I think they should do. However I cannot say with any confidence that they don't do them because Mags does not focus enough attention on them.

It would actually be really foolish for the Sox to make a scapegoat of Mags. That would be a transparent move designed to blame somebody. By rights it should be the kind of move that should anger the fan base even more.

I don't see it happening. The Red Sox offense is 2nd to the Rangers in the major leagues. It's been inconsistent, but it's not the problem with this team. The problem, despite recent success, has been starting pitching overall.

Magadan has been fine.

If it weren't for the offense, they would be much further back right now.

He was handed some pretty tough breaks and they have managed to hit the ball pretty well.

Mags has a simple problem with AdGon. The guy has lost his batting eye. He's swinging at pitches outside of the strike zone. Even the announcers are talking about it. Maybe he needs glasses. Maybe he just doesn't care.

I see the Red Sox problems as basically front office problems. Bad decisions over the past few years.

A preference for downside veterans over upside prospects. Expensive signings which messed up chemistry

and put the team in an untenable financial position to fill real needs. They've gone in the wrong direction the past few years by going the high cost veteran route. Not enough young blood mixed in.
