Bailey/Sweeney/Lillibridge/Stewart/Melancon say hi.

Oh yeah Breslow really addresses the issue with this team. Because a f***ing lefty bullpen arm is what was wrong.

He's a solid lefty arm who's under control for next year and he let's us move morales into the rotation.

Also.

Youks had to go. Just had to go. We're lucky we got anything for him. Also, the guy we flipped Brent for has some solid numbers iirc.

Bailey/Sweeney, doesn't look great now but we have to see what we get from bailey before making a final judgement

Melancon hasn't worked out but it's not like we gave up a ton for him. Weiland is mediocre and lowrie is made of glass.

Apparently the Rangers nixed on Beckett really early on. I had a suspicion that it was not a jockeying for position kind of thing but that Ryan really did not want to bring Beckett in there.

Oh so trading for crap isn't a negative if you give up crap. Cherington did nothing this offseason to fix the problems with this team.

Well the Sox got out their dreg-o-matic again. Leave it to them to whip up a spiffy smoothie when the need is more for some solid meat and potatoes. They certainly did nothing relative to the issues they have. Really was to be expected though so I am just spitting bile for the heck of it.

He got us a closer for someone who was at the time expendable. No one could've predicted Reddick's power surge and bailey's thumb issue. Jury is still out.

The Houston deal didn't turn out great for us but it isn't like Houston fleeced BC

Ben brought in shoppach and Ross who've been great and he did shed scutaro's salary. He also brought in Padilla along with Breslow just today.

There wasn't a big move for Ben to make. Okay? It's that simple.

What the f*** do you want from him?

If all he does is swap out Breslow for Albers, he essentially has done nothing to reinforce the team down the stretch. That's it, pure and simple. It's no different than the off season. Nothing. People want to get excited about a move so they are happy with any s***. We are so starved for any action. They didn't need Breslow to put Morales in the rotation. They already have Miller as a lefty in the pen.

If this is all they were going to do, they should have been sellers.

People are going to be unhappy because our team is bad. But we'd be much worse off long-term if we gave up anything decent to "reinforce" a .500 team.

We wanted two lefties in the pen. We made due with morales until we swapped s*** for a solid reliever who could slot into morales role while Franklin goes into the rotation.

There wasn't a huge move to be made. There just wasn't. This deal makes us better without losing anything valuable.

I'm still curious why we're calling up Lavarnway if we didn't trade one of our catchers. I have a feeling there are more moves to come, but they will be minor.

Calling up lavs would certainly mean that one of shop or salty got dealt. I'm sure we'll hear something soon.

The Breslow deal was all about moving Morales to the starting rotation. Too bad they didn't think of that last Friday. Ben is very slow for an Amherst grad.

It could just be a standby thing in case one of them gets dealt.

Lars Anderson just got moved to Cleveland for a minor league pitcher.

Not the deal I wanted to hear. They haven't found a way to unload Shoppy or Salty.

So I am wondering if we think we are SURE that one of the catchers has been moved....cause I have a bad feeling on that one.

Doesn't sound like the Yankees did much of anything either which is strange considering they're actually a contending team.

They got Megehee from the Pirates for Qualls. Funny how the Red Sea always parts for them when they need a player. Though they thought they had Dempster and didn't get him.

They got RHP Steven Wright for Anderson. AA Akron knuckleballer with 2.70 ERA, 9-6 record.

Not bad, though Lars had a hell of a spring training this year, and could bust out like Reddick.

Perhaps but Lars had no place here.

If this kid can develop his knuckleball ball. We could have a solid back end guy to eat innings or a long man out of the bullpen.
