Going to be a good game. Even though we have played well against Tampa this year they still scare me. Lester is going to have to play a hell of a game tonight for us to get the win. I'll be at a pun after work hopefully they will have the game on!!! Go Sox!!!!!

I like it. Of course I'd like to see WMB in there but this lineup is good. I understand not wanting to put Adrian in Fenway's right field.

RED SOX (22-22)

Aviles SS

Pedroia 2B

Ortiz DH

Gonzalez 1B

Youkilis 3B

Saltalamacchia C

It will be interesting and maybe a little scary watching Byrd navigate RF at Fenway.

Yeah. Makes you wonder - Is Byrd really that big of an upgrade over Lin offensively? Because if not, Lin is a huge upgrade over Byrd defensively, especially with his arm and speed.

And by the way, Gonzo is lined up to play RF tomorrow, per BobbyV.

BTW f*** Joe maddon and his thick framed douchee glasses.

Come on man. I respect the hell out of Joe Maddon. There will be movies made about him, guaranteed. He's such an outside-of-the-box thinker (See: Pena hitting leadoff vs Lester tonight), but it works.

He keeps the clubhouse loose, but preaches fundamentals. Does every single thing he can do to help the team win, whether it's looking at how SP approach LHP vs RHP and then compare that to his hitters strengths, or looking at a spray chart and determining whether or not to use the shift.

It's an absolutely perfect situation for both him and for the Rays because you can't have a guy like Maddon go into a room full of overpaid, egotistical superstars and have them dress up like nerds on a road trip. But when you've got a young group of guys who are mostly homegrown, and the leaders in the clubhouse have really bought in to Maddon's theories, it's a perfect situation. And that's one of the big reasons that the Rays are successful.

f*** that outfield is disgusting .

I'm shocked that this team is at 500 with an outfield like that.

Once Ells and Crawford come back this team should win even more

Maddon is very impressed with himself. Yet, he is the only active manager that thought outside of the box so much that he submitted a lineup with 2 third baseman thereby losing his DH for the game. As far as handling players, he has never been able to motivate BJ Upton to perform up to his capability. The guy continues to be a dog. I don't think much about Maddon. He might be a slight degree less stupid than most managers, but that ain't saying a lot.

Joe Maddon: AL Manager of the Year in 2008 and 2011. If we had Maddon as a manager starting in 2008 we would have had a much better record IMO. He is innovative and isn't afraid to call out his players and to use all of his offensive weapons. I hate Maddon, but I respect him as an excellent manager.

OK...good start. The key to this series IMO is to play with the lead. The Rays have a tough pitching staff to come from behind on.

It's idiotic that he has Pena batting lead off. I am well aware of his number against Lester. He has taken him deep several times. He would definitely want him to bat in the first inning, but lester has had a history of first inning problems. Getting a lead off bomb from Pena would be a waste if there was an opportunity to get a 3 run bomb. Maddon is very impressed with himself. He's a jackass.

Lester just walk Drew Sutton? I want to throwup.

On four pitchers. What the hell is Lester afraid of? Drew Sutton? What a joke.
