Salty blocks the ump's view on the low strike. He doesn't get low enough.

Don't blame jarrod because the umpire is f***ing blind.

Seriously....even as old a f*** as I am...that is the worse ump base path call I have seen in my entire lifetime. Not only was it the wrong call.....it went against every ump instinct and even golden rule I have ever known. A total f***ing embarrassment....explains why the guy at home is on this crew.

I'm telling you that we don't get low strike calls when he is catching. The umps can't look over his big lummox body. Compare how he receives the ball to Joe Mauer. Mauer is bigger than Salty, but gets very low to give the ump a good look. Pitchers had complained about throwing to such a big catcher for that very reason.

Salty used to lay one leg down probably to get lower but the Sox pitchers didn't like that. Beggers can't be choosers.

Salty's size and build type are also one of the reasons he does not move around back there to good. Need to have that Thurmon Munson, Yogi Berra prototypical catcher's body or a way to overcome the shortcomings of not having one...pardon the evil empire references.

Wonder what salty's piloting skills are like.

Nice rip by Ross right there.

Lets go Salty. Lock in.

First time in a while that the number 7 jersey hasn't been eyef***ing strike three.

That is evidence of what Ted Williams used to say about pitchers-- they are the dumbest animals on earth.
