I don't care that they are turning it around. YOUK AND SALTY SUCK

Who cares that it looks like they are turning it around and hitting up to their capabilities, they must be defined as terrible because of their first 10 games!! 10 games makes a season. I can't believe it took you 5% of the season to get into your grooves. Unacceptable, they must be driven out of town. Slumps don't exist in baseball.

Yeah, this is a mock thread directed at you, YOUK haters.

I appreciate that.

I actually really hope Youkilis turns it around. Just because I am not a huge fan doesn't mean I don't want him to do well. By all means, please return to the 25-30 HR, 90-100 RBI, .290-.300 hitter!

 Youk doesn't just suck most of the time at the dish, though.

He lacks mobility defensively, and ultimately just sucks now.

5% or 100% of the season, groove or slump, still can't get the job done.

Youk haters unite!

I don't mind the guy, and whatever - but c'mon

i for one love Youk his patience at the plate his wierd stance there is nothing conventional about him. only thing about him is as season wears down so does he. 3 months is all you have with Youk.

Honestly though in 2010 Youk had a freak thumb injury. 2011 was the only real season where he broke down at the end.

yep he did have that injury in 2010. i think you do have a point we need to cut everybody on the team some slack. i was hating what Youk was doing up there that wasnt the Youk you would normally see but glad he is turning it around.

When Youk starts hitting' date=' they should move him for the best starting pitcher they can get and bring up Middlebrooks. Package Youk and Doubront.[/quote']

I wouldn't hate this, but honestly don't see it happening.

How about this dream trade

Marlins get:

Doubront

Youk

IGGY

Red Sox

Hanley Ramirez

Josh Johnson

Obviously this is an unrealistic rape of a trade, but wouldn't it be wonderful?

We might get a HanRam bobblehead and JJ gameworn jersey for that package..

IDK, HanRam and JJ's value have never been lower if you ask me.

Youks and Doubront for Garza?

I doubt Chicago would bite on Kevin. I'm sure the last thing a rebuilding team wants for its top starter is a 33 year old third basemen who isn't what he uses to be.

Even if we ate salary?

Maybe but what use do they have for youk.

They're starting Bryan LaHair at 1B and while he's started off good... Bryan Who..? They're also starting Ian Stewart at 3B. Youk would be an upgrade over both of them.

Are they even shopping Garza?

Salty's turning into pretty much what we expected. A not really great defensive catcher, with a decent arm and a solid and improving stick.

How about a 33 year old GG 1B?

He only has to be a 3B here because we have Gonzo.

You would just about have to package Youk with somebody to get anything back. If they gave up Doubront as part of that package they better get back a real deal pitcher that has his head screwed on straight. There is so much s*** going on within this team at this point you need a scorecard just to keep track of the clubhouse and off field stuff courtesy of LL and his hand picked manager V.

Teams have ugly incidents (like the Marlins recent issues) but usually they are between a player and the law or a player and the community at large or a player and MLB (like HGH kinds of things). Ours are so often within the team or organization itself. Unfortunately you never get the impression that it is one of those "straw that stirs the drink" sort of deals either. More often is just seems like the most recent train wreck.

It's early, folks. Relax.

The biggest spenders--the Marlins and the Angels--have started slowly.

The big contracts, Reyes and Pujols, have done nothing.

Albert will probably come back some, but the stats the past few years suggest he is in decline.

He may have Papi disease--and could use better conditioning with some weight loss.

Albert should talk to Papi. The Angels may regret not using their TV money on Fielder.

Plus they have a logjam with Trumbo and Morales.

The biggest problem the Red Sox have right now is getting the front office to do the right things to straighten out the pitching. That may not be as easy as it seems.

It's not easy, because there are probably not a lot of available options. The available options are probably not that great, but there probably are some options that would be an improvement. They are not going to get the perfect deal, but they still need to act now.
