Matching what the Phillies offer would be a contract we would regret hard in a few years.

Why?

I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion?? Your predicting he'll get hurt?

We knew Crawford was hurt going in to spring training...and Bailey has missed 100 games over the last 2 years due to injury. Hes been hurt since the day he fell out of his moms vagina.....and you are surprised?

Yeah. I'm surprised. You can call someone injury prone all day if you want, but he didn't get injured with a recurring injury (i.e. his elbow). He got hurt in a freak injury. Other than that, he was healthy, so that argument makes zero sense.

And Crawford was expected to miss about a week max. Not a month.

You do not pay a closer not named Rivera 4 years 50 mill. He is nearly making exactly what Rivera is and he is not Rivera.

Almost EVERY SINGLE long term contract looks bad at the end. So we are never going to sign a guy long term again because of how they look at the end?

Lackey and Crawford will make ownership gun shy for life if you use that logic.

Injury prone players get hurt. Bailey is injury prone. Bailey is hurt. Does it matter how it happened?

I actually did sweat that pop up bouncing off of Aviles glove for a second. You know, with the way things have been going and all.

They should be gun shy. They have a lot of bloated and bad contracts on the books. You can just go on spending sprees every off season. You do not tie up that kind of money on a guy that at best pitches 4 innings a week.

Some of you want the team to just spend and spend and spend. If it was that easy they just would.

Yes. An injury prone player is a player who has recurring injuries on a specific area. Beckett is injury prone because of his back. Youk is injury prone because of his groin.

Is Ellsbury injury prone?

How can you predict his career though?? He's the fastest closer to 200 svs, some guy named Rivera isn't
