I really have to go back and check but I think if you take the three pitching elements, starters, mid-relief and closer, more of our losses have come from starters being out-pitched by the opposing starters than from the other two elements. Our starters have pitched will for the most part but have been out-pitched a few times already so far this year. Tonight is another example.

To some extent our own lack of offense must be contributing but we have not lead many games at all as yet. I know it really stands out when our pen or our closer does not perform but I don't think that is were we have had the bulk of our losses so far.

If we give up just six runs tonite, our team ERA will go DOWN.

Everyone ready to bring on the Yankees?

We were 0-6 last year and still kicked their asses. Bring them on. We take 2 and we're 6-9 with the s***** teams rolling in.

If anyone needs a ride to the Tobin' date=' I can drop you off.[/quote']No thanks. I've seen plenty of teams that have been worse. Not going to jump off a bridge about it. But this pen is more brutal than I expected it to be.

Tito spent the last few years working with 2-3 good arms in the pen and a huge pile of jerkoffs. I think Ben takes Inepstien's aproach to stocking the pen with crap as well as not aquiring a real shortstop and keeping Theo's old girlfriend Salty employed.

Schedule hasn't been kind either. We have a solid rotation, a good offense, and a now shaky pen that I expect to be at least average over the course of the season when things settle down and some guys return from injury. People need to step away from the ledge.

Inepstein? The inept guy who brought us two WS?

Idk about that... Lester's 1st 2 starts were great, Beckett has 2 great starts, bard has a great start, dubront had a very good outing...

And we're 4-8 without 'em.

Ellsbury will be back

Crawford too

Bard's doing fine in the rotation.

and Pap was asking far too much.

Give it time, things will smooth themselves over. We get Craw back soon, Hill too, maybe Tazawa turns into a good pen arm, Ells with be back at some point, Bailey.....

We've been dealt a s*** deck to start the year but it's a 162 game season.

This pen is brutal. The team fights to stay in the game and there is no one to trust in the late innings other than Aceves. It's hugely frustrating.

In April. Give it time. Patience.

The bullpen has lost half of the games thanks to blown saves or letting the deficit from 1 to 6-7 runs.

Oh yeah, I forgot he single handedly played every position on the 04' and 07' teams.

My bad.

Let's bring back Eric Gagne, he would be the centerpiece of the pen.

We don't win it all without him. Pedroia, Lester, Ortiz, Schilling. These guys ring any bells?

You ain't knocking that hard on death's door are you?
 No, but I got more time behind me than in front of me. The years fly by. When I started rooting fo the Sox in 1967, I never imagined that I wouldn't see a Championship for 37 more years.

I know I have to look to be sure but I bet our starters have not handed off the game with a lead nearly as many times so far as they have handed off a game with a deficit.

Schedule has had us up against the iron of the league for one thing. Our Offense has not been that great for another and we have run into some really good opposition starting pitching as well.

Along with about 40 high priced turds he hung on us. I would love to see what the Rays would have done with a checkbook as big as Henry's.

So you know that patience is a virtue. It all pays off.
