I have no problem sending ross in that situation. Bobby tried to get something going with this dead offense. Why is nobody concerned with Sweeny watching a 3rd strike down the middle to get Ross thrown out?

Nope.

 

They have Youk, Repko, Shoppach and Spears in the bench. They were only carrying three bench players when they were carrying 13 pitchers.

 

There was just no need to substitute Ross in that situation. He's not as slow as it's being said here. It was simply a perfect throw with a FB right down broadway that Sweeney should have caught up to.

Reguardless of the situation, Sweeny needs to swing the bat on anything close. Not only to prevent the K but protect the runner trying to advance. It was poorly executed and as a result we get burned out of an inning.
