He actually wasnt terrible. He only allowed only 2ER. After the error by Nunez' date=' he imploded in that inning then found it again. But he doesnt put away hitters like he should and needs to go to the pen[/quote']

He wasn't locating anything again today. He had good breaking stuff, good velocity. I saw 94 mph a few times. It was just stuff was moving up. The bullpen has been the best in baseball, but we NEED our starters to go longer, it's crazy how much our pen guys have been used.

We have to move Phelps into the rotation. We also must move up either Warren or Mitchell into the other starters role. I know Girardi gave Garcia the dreaded vote of confidence, but the guy doesnt have the movement nor the velocity he had last season. He's sitting mid 80s right now, where he was sitting 88-89 last yr. Also, his splitter has been total s*** and he just cannot survive without all his pitches going for him since he is such a pus-baller. Might be time to just cut your losses.

Hughes never refined his game thanks to a myriad of injuries, poor work ethic, and ever changing roles. This has left him as a guy who pitches like he's throwing 96 while actually throwing 91. He needs to go back to the pen, amp up the velo in shorter stints and become an effective swing man for this team. We need him to assume David Phelps' role.

In terms of Phelps, this kid has the stuff to be a big leaguer. Throws 4 pitches for strikes, can cut, run and ride his fastball to spots and goes right after hitters. I learned more from his Boston appearance than his prior ones because he didnt have all his stuff, but his approach never changed. Attack, attack, attack. He throws like he's a 10 yr vet as a rookie and he should be rewarded as such. He isnt going to be confused with an ace, and never will be. But he throws like a younger Jake Westbrook, a guy capable of throwing 7-8 innings with good pitch counts and getting a lot of weak hacks on pitchers pitches. He wont be a 10 K a game guy, but he should be able to make the transition. Hell, he's been throwing near starts for the Yanks piggybacking Hughes or Garcia. Time to remove one of them from the equation.

Pettitte is likely to make three more minor-league starts before joining the Yankees, possibly for the series against the Mariners on May 11.

3-1' date=' ARod with a chance to break it open. My guess is he will shrivel in a big spot[/quote']

ARod usually hits a few homers in Texas. I think he's good for one more this series.

Just when I thought my dreams were coming true and Jeter was done.. He comes back this year and tears it up. Was he hanging out with Kobe's German doctor this offseason?

Taking nothing away from Darvish but I kind of knew the Yankees would go that way. Typical for them with a pitcher they haven't seen. I actually think Kuroda pitched a slightly better overall game too.

Kuroda threw well from the line score and gamecasting. I was working, so I couldnt watch and I'll be working tonight. So be it. Hopefully Hughes can get his s*** together, but I'm not holding my breath

Sooooo, this sucks. No Pineda means less cavalry for our rotation. Hughes confirmed what everyone else already knew, that he needs to go to the pen. He has lost so much stuff since he first came up due to injury and laziness that we need to salvage something from him. Time to swap roles with Phelps. I know Phelps didnt pitch well last night either, but he was throwing on 3 days rest after another prolonged outing. He's a starter, time to sink or swim with him.

The good thing about yesterday was that Pettitte got up to 81 pitches. He's probably 2 weeks from making his 2012 debut.

If you ever read Hughes twitter account all he does is watch Hockey and eat nachos. I honestly thought he'd have a good year as he seemed focused and he got in better shape but yeah sometimes you can fix broke, just stick him in the bullpen and hope he can be that 2009 Phil Hughes so you can get at least some value from him.

The good news, someone will probably murder Garcia before he exits the stadium. Can't see how he can keep getting the ball after this. He just has nothing left.

Is there any greater joy in the world than the skanks getting punched in the uterus?

Nope. But Granderson just went yard over that Pony League fence in right. They've gotten 3 hits, 2 HR's.

So did Cabrera.

Garcia sucks cock. f***ing start Phelps

For the life of me, I don't understand that. If we start Garcia again, we need more changes than just with the rotation.
