New to forum. Grew up on Cape Cod and now live in Western New York. I have Direct TV and the NESN network. I was wondering if I will get the Sox games or will they be blacked out in my area. Anyone from Western New York out there who could tell me? This is mostly Blue Jays and Yankees territory out here it seems.:thumbdown

Why not ask your provider or NESN?

Believe it or not I did ask my provider (DirectTV) and they didn't know themselves. They said something to the effect "blackouts are hard to figure out". I haven't communicated with NESN , but my guess is they would say check with your provider as well.

OYE! I suspect that you will not get clarification. Blackouts are weird. Just hope for the best and try to find out the current URL of what we here at Talksox fondly call "The Dutchy Channel". Clandestine Sox games in real time on the Interwebs.

Where do you live? I spent some time in Rochester and Ithaca.

Live about 50mi southwest of Rochester near Geneseo . In farm country out here. We are dreadfully low on Democrats and Red Sox fans in this area. I keep my doors locked just in case.:D

When I lived in New York, NESN would get blacked out during Yankee games... which meant that you needed to watch YES. It is disgusting, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Just make sure to change the channel during commercials so they make as little ad revenue as possible from you.

They will be blacked out. You'll have to get the MLB Extra Innings baseball package.
