I don't mind it, but my problem with this is two-fold. First, we had draft pick comp coming, and second, he gets lit up by good offenses, even when he throws the ball where he wants to. He needs to come into 2012 as a #4 at best, so this better not be it.

A fair assessment jacko. Garcia isn't good against good teams, so he's not really good at all. In this market and with the need for MLB-caliber depth, he's ok to have on the roster though.

Garcia is not our # 2.... he's a # 2 in another sense tho.

 

I don't like it cause our payroll will be about 198 million now. I think our budget is 210, maybe 215 if Hal gives the ok. You have to figure we'll try to get one more starter, maybe Dravish. They are also hot for the Cuban Soler. Bringing back Chavez or Jones isn't going to be as cheap as it was last year too. Well maybe Chavez comes back for a million, but Jones is going to cost 3 to 4 mill, IMHO.
