Pretty sure nobody picked the Cardinals to beat the Phillies. Baseball is cool.

I'll take Brewers in 6. This should be a good one. Seems like the teams genuinely dislike each other (Zack Greinke: "Nobody really likes Carpenter").

Don't forget this is a rematch of the last time the Breweres were in the World Series, pretty cool.

Hoping for some great pitching duels, I pick the Brewers though, the Cardinals just barely inched out the Phillies. Having the first two games at Miller Park is also pretty important, even if the the next three after that (if necessarily) are Busch stadium.

I say Brewers in 5 or 6.

LaRussa deserves this pounding.

That's what happens when you try to let a struggling pitcher get through 5 just so he can get a win.

He had it right in the first inning.

I totally saw that HR coming from Pujols.

They were talking about his postseason stats and hit he a bomb foul. I just had a feeling he'd get under one. I'd be scared to pitch to him to be honest. His batting stance is scary.

Make that 7 for 11 .

And Jacko... keep dreaming

Pujols is not going to NY , he's going to Boston ;)

nah. staying in St Louis--if he's smart.

The playoffs are OK, but the top team in each league needs a first round bye.

They wind up playing the wild card team--often a very hot team in September-- a disadvantage. Right now, the Cardinals are the hot team. Having the Phillies and Yankees lose to the hot wild card team in the 1st round was not great.

But that's play off baseball. That's how we got to the WS in 04 and 07.

I am missing your point.

F the Phils and Yanks for not being able to win a 5 game series.

The Yankees didn't lose to the hot wild card team, they lost to a team that only lost 2 more games than they did. Just because the big teams don't make it far doesn't mean it's not great. Both of these series are a treat to watch.

Yes, the Yanks are embarassing, going 5 games against a team that was hot going into the playoffs. The Yankees got f***ed by the rain issue and by the injury bug. ARod played down to his sexual orientation due to his injuries. And something was wrong with Tex. He looked abysmal. You create a hole in your lineup from spots 4-6 and you're not gonna win, period

I was really hoping it would be Milwaukee. It would have been nice to have two teams that hadn't won a Series yet. Then we'd be guaranteed a first-time winner. Hell, even the Tigers would have been cool because they haven't won since 84. I just wanted the Cards, Yanks, Phils, and D-Backs out so we wouldn't have another team in that won since 2000. I like variety. I was hoping for a Rangers-Rays ALCS from the beginning and I wanted Milwaukee to win it all. Oh well, go Rangers.

Pujols is just insane.

If the Cards let him walk they just might give birth to the pujols curse. lol

I dont think they're that dumb to let him walk though.
