Martin gets on base at a higher clip and is the much better catcher. Salty has a little more pop, but defense is important out of the C position, and Salty lacks in that category big time

If Tito had not brought Aceves in, it would not be tied. Lackey would have given up the guy he put on and then some as he came out throwing in the 7th the same way he threw in the 6th. Only difference, Yanks missed bad pitches in the 6th.

 

This is the Aceves controversy (as if I am tellin' you guys something you don' know). Aceves stuff is so much better than Lackey's or Wakes knuckle and it makes little sense to save him for 6th or 7th inning duties when the Sox are likely to already be behind by 3 or 4 by then.
