Yeah, but factually, it isn't over and you're still here, in a gamethread, talking s***. If the season is over for you and/or you don't care, then perhaps you are in the wrong thread.

They are not mathmatically eliminated, and there are 3 games left. Unless you have some contract with a higher power you didn't "know" anything. You guessed.

I'm not watching the game.

I'm here because I like it here and like to discuss things? The fact that the season is over has nothing to do with me being here. As far as know, this board doesn't close down during the off season.

This is going to be a fun gamethread. Since I'll be working the next few nights I will treat this as my farewell to the 2011 season, barring a great turnaround and playoff appearance.

I'm in it for the longhaul... unless I get hungry.

Really? You're sitting in a dark room somewhere, not paying attention to the game, but posting on a game thread about how terrible the Sox are?

Wow.

Now I feel how a Mets or Cub fan feels...:(

Nah. It is much worse to be a Cubs or Mets fan. They are out of contention by July. We have to remember that actually caring about the outcome of a game late in the season means the team is in contention. It's WHY I want the Sox to be good, so I can care a little longer.

See the 0-2 pitch to Granderson. That thing should have been in the right field stands and Granderson knows it.

Lackey gets out of the second but only because Granderson missed that BP pitch.

I would say Lackey would go first but the Sox will probably try to limit the amount of his contract they have to pay going forward. If it were me I would release him outright and eat the whole damn thing. I will never blame a player for taking the money but Lackey so badly and has been a jerk to boot. So I can't stand the guy.

Wake will likely be told that he is going to be traded and asked if he would like to announce his retirement instead. They owe Wake. He does not deserve to be treated like he is being thrown on a scrap heap.

This team as constructed today is not well mated to Tito's style as a manager. Given the old axiom of not being able to fire 25 guys combined with Theo's golden boy status with Henry, I would not be surprised to see Tito the first to go.

I watched Tex hit the ball off the fence, 3 runs score and then I started watching Spartacus Blood and Sand.

The Red Sox have been sucking for quite some time. That requires no game watching.

Also, on a well lit room, thanks.

Okay, I will call back the police from doing a wellness check on you.

Must be pretty painless to be a fan who gives up on his team weeks early, switches the channel in a do-or-die game, and knows the result of the season before it happens.

Also, you just missed a Siberian tiger jumping on the field literally in the middle of a very rare 1-5-2-4-8 double-play. Lackey to Lowrie to Tek to Pedroia to Ellsbury, who was covering home.

You're missing some pretty amazing stuff but don't worry, I will continue giving you the blow-by-blow.

I wouldn't do it for the most part, but times like now are the time when you need fans to be at their best. Not packing up their picnic basket and folding chair and going home in disgust.

Here is what I have struggled with all season.

When Lackey is throwing that slider that does not break (or maybe its a cutter) and it just hangs there over the plate, like the almost homer and the 0-2 that Grandyman fouled off, why does anybody in that dugout think that thing is suddenly going to start to break down or down and away or at all. All the history on him is the other way.

I don't know if that not so fast fast ball is worse than the not going to break slider. However so far tonight the not going to break slider has been more of a problem.

Will wonder's never cease. He got one down and got somebody to swing at it.

Like most people on this forum, I remember the 80's and 90's. I loved them then and I will continue to after this debacle to over whether they make the playoffs or not. But I need to see that the FO cares by making some huge changes this off season.

It was sarcasm. I got s*** for calling him a pink hat....and I still think he is.

Your questions belong chiseled in stone somewhere, buried in a temple to be discovered a few thousand years from now.

"that not so fast fast ball" and the "not going to break slider" will be things of legend!

They made huge changes last season and presumably they increased your interest in the team, no?

Sometimes changes for changes sake aren't necessarily good.

That's call intuitive feeling.

Oh Carl oh baby the wind from that swinging strike (down and breaking away again) just made the hairs stand up on my arm. You are the man Carl. Nobody gets KO'ed like you Carl. The excitement of wondering whether your bat is going to get within a foot of the ball is more than I can take.

That one broke away but low and over the middle of the plate since it started inside and he still missed it by a foot.

I'm cool and collected.

This doesn't bother me. Maybe with some maturity in your part you'll understand some day.

It's called giving up on your team before the results are in.

Results have been in for quite some time.

If the front office doesn't care enough to shake things up, why on earth do you think I should?

Its like going to a ball game. People aren't gonna show up if you dont keep your end of the deal.

No, your intuition has been in for quite some time. Nothing else. Results aren't in until the games are played.

Yes I was very interested in the improvements they made during the off season. But it has come to a head here. No one knew how the dynamics of the club house would be with the addition of a few new players. Do I think we should get ride of crawford? No. Was I happy about getting Lackey? No! there was a reason LAA didn't fight to keep him. Scioscia is no idiot! A different leadership style is needed in a manager to match how the team dynamics have changed. Again, Shill didn't let anyone hang their heads like they are doing now. Sometimes the difference between winning a Championship and not making the playoffs is one player. As stated earlier, what would have happened if we never got Roberts. New manager, new GM. My .02
