Francona just stabbed Atchison.

A good bloodletting might be the only thing that might shake these guys up. However, I don't see anybody on this team including coaches as the flip over the buffet table type. In fact if that happened I am sure the only guy you might hear from would be the guy that did not get his shrimp cocktail in time.

I hate to say it guys' date=' but anyone remember that curse thing that used to hang over this team a few years back?[/quote']

You just expressed what I have been thinking for the past 3 weeks. This team needs a better strength and conditioning program, AGon, Youk, Ortiz need to lose some freakin weight! And I do think that Crawford and Lackey have become a cancer in OUR clubhouse. I wish Tek was as outspoken as Shill! Get in someone's FACE!!!!

I said they had a conditioning problem LAST year, when they had so many injuries.

Now everybody's saying it.

"Curses" are nonsense.

The management had its head in the sand, thinking they could throw out Lackey, Wakefield and Miller

start after start and get away with it. The stats were telling them NO.

When Wake or Lackey pitches, the hitters know they have to score 8 runs to win. They can't be pleased with that.

The management has become too complacent.

I don't believe in curses either! It is merly a way to make light of the situation. Sarcasim is hard to express through the printed word. And I thought that last year as well when they had so many injuries late. Just re-stating the obvious! Totally agree about the complacency. I feel that the FO/Coaching staff are still riding the 04/07 WS wins.

What in the f*** is wrong with this damn team?

If Lackey blows up and I mean get absolutely torched we'll kidnap Theo and hold him hostage until he releases Lackey. Talksox will pitch in money to get him out of here. Hell I'll put him in my suitcase when I go to Europe and leave him there. Kidding but seriously big game here. I can't actually believe we are this close to the Rays.

I believe this start is the deciding factor whether or not Lackey is released. I believe he should be released no matter what but Theo will take any excuse to keep him to not make himself look like an idiot for signing him and a win today would be that excuse. I dont think I can watch him for another 3 years.

Ace ticket a little presumptive about the playoffs, eh?

LOL Crawford!!!

Cashman should call Theo and say give us $50 million or we'll start proctor for every game against the Rays

We're gonna have Nunez' date=' Montero, Tex, Cano, and Granderson tonight against Slackey[/quote']

Man you guys bring some great discussion. Please keep posting.

Gonzalez epitomizes the Red Sox September. Down looking.

For all that talk about the Sox getting into the postseason he needs to back it up. If not then don't say s*** to the media.

How about not saying s*** at all?

Is it so hard to not run your mouth? So many athletes do it and of course they pay for it later.

cusoxfan91 I agree with you on that. Its kinda too bad cause I sort of liked Lacky. I am sort of suprised that they are putting him in. Maybe they just dont have anyone else that they could start? Just throwing the question out there. However no matter what happens I think Theo's position will be questioned alot. I hope they keep Francona though. I will save that for another thread though.

Time to brin gthis s***, Red Sox.

We've been hoping game after game to see some semblance of what we saw for most of the season, but it appears that is gone.

It's like someone stole their mojo...

I really do not see Drew finding some magic at the plate. I guess if I were Tito, seeing my team bleeding like this defensively I could convince myself that Drew will plug one defensive hole anyway and he "might" find something at the plate. While that might sound like pretty thin logic, given how the team has played defensively of late and even in game 1 today and seeing how easily this team has folded its tent when things go badly, preventing a ball from dropping into right field could actually be a big deal for them.

That said, just watching Lackey warm up out there scares me to death. Tito did not say anything along these lines in his pre-game and he might be protecting Lackey's delicate mindset. However I would have Lackey on the shortest possible leash tonight whether he likes it or not. Watching how Tito handles Lackey may make this one of the most interesting games of the season since I simply no longer believe Lackey can even get through three innings without getting into serious trouble. That means Tito will have to make very important decisions very early on. Do I get somebody up and throwing? Do I get somebody up and throwing and pull Lackey at the first sign of trouble? Do I chance leaving Lackey out there in a game that I must win at all costs?

What the f*** is Drew doing in the lineup? Has he done any rehab or anything? If not, has he just been faking an injury this whole time? If he's able to play, where has he been the last few weeks!!?!?!?

What the f***?

Pedroia has been hacking and hitting high pop flies pretty consistently lately.

We know that the Sox are in the doghouse when it looks like Pedroia is helpless out there. He's suddenly David Eckstein.

Jesus I am so tired of seeing Crawford ground to the left side on balls down and away. He just cannot lay off of them and since he is batting from the 2 hole why not try to bunt for a base hit. Just trying might have had a positive effect on this woefully downtrodden team. But no not Carl. Why do something like that when I can just take my usual lame ass swing at another ball down and away. Unless this guy leaves one out over the plate to Carl I suspect he will get Carl out every time because of the way his ball breaks.

It looks like he's never hit before, doesn't it? He looks no more competent than Josh Reddick up there. If there are 2 strikes you can rest assured he won't work a walk, even at 2-2 or 3-2. Jesus.
