What's the weather status? Starting on time?

Light showers.

It has stopped raining hard but rain continues.

This is the best thing that could happen for the Sox. They'll play 2 half squads for the Yanks tomorrow.

Oh sure. I was just thinking of myself - what I wanted rather than what was best for the Sox

Lester would have to start on short rest if they plan on using him next week though.

Also, in case the Rays win tonight. That will give the Sox more motivation not to f*** up.

Seeing the Rays 1.5 games, closest they've been since the slide may give the Sox new life or something.

If this months wasn't motivating enough. Then I don't know if that will.

Price and the Rays imploded early in tonight's game. They were throwing the ball all over the place resulting in 3 unearned runs. Only two errors were charged, but it was a terrible inning. It was like a circus.

I was so pissed when I got home from the movies to find out that this game was postponed. I'm probably gonna flip in and out this weekend, purely because I wish not to here the broadcasters talking about our near collapse the whole time. We're gonna take this series, I have a feeling we'll pull it off. Far worse teams than this one have been in more dire straits and came out on top in the end. Funny things happen once October starts. Personally, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that, come playoff time, Erik Bedard is gonna turn out to have ice water in his veins and Carl Crawford is gonna catch fire. Oh yeah, and the Sox are winning the series and the Pats the superbowl for that matter.

Wow, I can see predicting Carl Crawford getting hot, but Buddy, you are out on a limb making predictions about Bedard. Every time he does anything he hurts himself. Hmmm, maybe that's we he doesn't cut child support checks-- afraid of hurting his fingers.

I guess it turns out that CUSoxFan is the last one laughing now that the game is going to be played on 9/24, which he originally posted, and not 9/23, which we all ripped him about.

Pretty funny.

Also, Angels lost. E# now at 3. Rays E# at 4.

Win tomorrow, and watch Romero stifle the Rays. Take that magic number down to 2!!!

Rays lose' date=' for once and for all capitalize this opportunity for God's Sake.[/quote']

That's what worries me, everytime Tampa loses and the Red Sox can pull ahead we blow it..... Hopefully Boston plays with their playoff lives on the line today, instead of half ass baseball.

^There's a lineup we haven't seen yet. I like the looks of that lineup. Crawford getting a chance to prove that he can stay near the top of the lineup.

This has been brought up multiple times. Not that it bothers me because it's an interesting topic for discussion. I was one of those who wanted Crawford batting 2nd during the offseason but I'd rather have Pedey hitting 2nd.

I agree, but with Youk out that leaves a little bit of room for some movement at the top. I don't know how I feel about Gonzo hitting 5th but we'll see how it works out. Should be interesting at least.

Big topic is third baseman Kevin Youkilis. Will his painful sports hernia allow him to contribute in the playoffs?

"He's willing to try anything we ask him to do," Francona said "He's going to grind through to see where it leads. Don't know if he can pinch hit, or play, or can he rebound? So we'll give him a couple of days and see where it leads. That's all we can do."

What exactly is he grinding through? A couple of day? He's been out for a long time. What difference will a couple of days make for his healing process?

Interesting take' date=' I wonder if this is the underlying reason[/quote']

Yeah--I think they had first dibs on him--but Theo passed in favor of Salty.

Remember, the media was touting the Sox as unbeatable pre-season. Everybody wanted to play for them after they got Crawford and AdGon.

This is bad news about Youks. You wonder if that shift to 3B had anything to do with this. Theo has to be concerned about 3B next year.
