Pretty much this. The stuff about "not deserving it" is stupid. It's a 162 game season' date=' and if they win enough games to get in, they deserve to get in. If they blow this, then they don't deserve it. Simple as that.[/quote']

True and Agree.

Nevertheless, if we still playing like this against substantial better teams once there, our chances would be reduced to zero.

We'll see.

I had standing room and ended up staying and catching the game from the 5th row! The end of the game was actually pretty exciting, thought they have a comeback in then. Not this team.

PS Reddick is having a terrible night. Is JD done for the season?

I was in RF Roof box for the first time. The team was dead once Tito sent Wake back out after we knocked out Price and closed the gap to 4-2. I had a long drive ahead, and it wasn't worth staying.

We'll never see JD again. I'd be shocked if he comes back.

Don't blame the rookie. This is what happens with rookies. I warned you all. Their hot streaks end with a thud and then they start playing like stupid rookies. Not his fault. Theo's fault for thinking that we could get by with Reddick and Bush league D Mac.

Don't BLAME anyone. I am tired of so many BLAME posts by A LOT of posters. s*** Happens. It is as simple as that. It's up to THE TEAM at this point.:)

VA, I never blame the players. They try their best.

My God, our catchers always seem to be chasing balls to the backstop.

Is there a statistical reason why Tek has been playing less and less in September' date=' or am I just making things up?[/quote']

Possibly because Beckett has missed a start? Not sure if that's the reason.

Atchinson had at least one good emergency start that I can remember last year. He has 7 years on Wake and throws 25 mph harder than Wake. He looks like he is 50, but that should tell us that Wake must be dying his hair.

A lot of posters blame Wakefield, Lackey, Crawford Scutaro etc etc.. I NEVER blame the players either. Who the f*** wants to lose? It sucks but s*** happens.

He's a team player, and he'll keep taking the ball if it is handed to him. They have to stop handing him the ball.

I disagree. Does an NL West team that wins 80 games, but cruises through a week division, deserve making the playoffs over a 95 win team that loses the wild-card spot in a tough division? How about an 8-8 NFL team that wins an all-time weak conference making the playoffs while an 11-5 team doesn't? In the end, the answer is

Everyone controls their own destiny starting day 1, but I'd have a real hard time actually saying a stumbling team deserves to be in just because of luck/what ever (in this case a good middle-of the season).

That said, when most of us (at least me) say that this team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs, I'm really just saying that we won't or likely won't control our own destiny. If we continue to lose, but back into the playoffs because the Rays keep loosing, then no, I don't believe we really earned it or deserve it.

Is it me or Atchison seemed to be a better Atchison we used to know.

Atchison somehow got a bad reputation last year. He was much better than people gave him credit for. He's a dependable reliever IMO. A guy you can throw in long relief outings and keep you in the game, at least.

Then who's to blame? The Coach? Manager? GM? Owners? Invisible guy in the sky? WHo? The answer is everyone in charge of the team: that's the utility guy all the way up to the owners.

I blame management.

They should realize the limitations of their roster and reinforce as necessary.

But Wake is not the reason for this poor season. NO ONE is. Our team looked GREAT on paper but they haven't produced. You are not a "victim" or "someone to blame" person. Come on man

You are incorrect. There is only so much they can do.
