News: Marchand FINALLY gets off his duff and re-signs. 2 years, 2.5M AAV. Will be RFA when contract is up. Sweet.

B's have a solid regular season. Timmy comes back to earth in the playoffs and a few pucks bounce the wrong way. Lose in 2nd round.

Wouldn't take more than a couple lucky bounces for the Bruins to repeat. They have a very good team.

 

Comes down to what we get out of Segs.

SO excited for opening night. I cursed about not being able to get tickets for face, but then found some at a reasonable rate PLUS tickets to the second game (Tampa Bay) for under face so it all worked out! Squeee!

Garden had a decent amount of people in it last night. Thomas gave up a few softies, but Peverley winging Bergy and Marchand looked like as good of a fit to replace Rex as we all hoped it would. I don't take much from these preseason games, especially since the Islanders played about one lines worth of players that will be on their regular season team (Bailey, Comeau, Parenteau), but that's how good they looked together.

 

I don't like seeing Spooner, Knight, Hamilton, and Khoklachev sent back this early. Even though they wouldn't have made the team anyways, would have liked to see them get a little bit more burn playing in preseason NHL games as opposed to major junior games.

Indeed.

 

If Seguin can play like that consistently he will be on the 2nd line and Peverly will be moved down. I was impressed, even though it was one game.

Nice to see Looch bounce back after a rough first 6 games. 6 goals and 4 assists in his last 6.

 

The B's with 2 nice showings after a brutal October.

Biggest thing here is why doesn't any Sabre step up and retaliate? If that happens to Boston, they would have half the team ready to drop the gloves in response.

 

Word of advice for Miller, don't come out to the freakin' face off dot when you see Milan Lucic charging down the ice.

Nah. Kaleta isn't a fighter. He's a pest and only fights other pests. While Lucic doesn't fight often anymore because of his role in the offense(first line) he would tune Kaleta up nicely.
