What's the deal with Ortiz? Any timetable?

Yup. VA got it right. Back tightened up on him last night, right at the last minute.

Doesn't much surprise me that he's sitting out today. Day game after night game, even though he didn't play last night, it didn't give it much time to recover either. No point in risking making it worse than it is and keeping him from playing the weekend series vs TB.

Pedroia clean-up????

Okay.

I know you mentioned you haven't been following the Sox much... He's actually hit in cleanup a lot when Youkilis/Ortiz were out. He's had some pretty good games there, actually.

Rotation set for Rays series

Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff September 14, 2011 11:25 AM

It'll be Kyle Weiland followed by Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and Tim Wakefield.

Andrew Miller is being skipped.

Also: David Ortiz is feeling better but is day to day. ... Erik Bedard will play catch again today but no word on when he might start.

He's done well in the clean up position.

Well I have only watched 5 games this season Lynne. So I am not aware of this. It just sounds odd. But hey, the kid can swat with the best of them. He's like a disciplined Vlad Guerrero (SP!!!) in some ways.

Just to fill ya in, in 21 games hitting from the clean up spot this season, Pedroia is hitting .341/.391/.600. In 27 games in his career from the clean up spot, Pedroia has hit .400/.443/.705. It's pretty insane what he's done from there.

You'll be pleasantly surprised today. Trust me.

Furthermore' date=' allow me to say that I intend to infest this GT today. I'm in a trollin' mood so look out!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:;)[/quote']

The minute Lackey gives up a run, the bitching and moaning about him will begin. Or hopefully those folks won't be here for a day game.

Thank you.

What about 2 runs? :thumbdown

Come on Lack. You gotta be better man. Plain and simple.

Luckily for us, it didn't take long. I really hope Buchholz can be ready for the playoffs. I don't want Lackey anywhere near this team come October (if we hang on to make the playoffs that is).
