Holy smokes.

We've got 2007 Pap back suddenly.

Suddenly? He's been 07 Pap all year basically, especially in Save Situations.

Lights. Out.

And the lead over the idle Yankees continues to grow.

And Republicans. They're are all equally clueless if you ask me.

They're all a bunch of f**cking bastards.

why are we paying taxes.

I have no doubt the Sox will give him a solid deal... it's all about whether Pap wants to go someplace else for a bit more money or not. I'm betting he'll stay...

The man is completely and utterly insane. With the mentally unbalanced, there's no way to tell. He could walk because he wants to get away from the mind-reading water cooler in the clubhouse, or he could stay because of the pet shoe he named Dr. Phillip Montgomery Wildershins The First that he keeps a locker he is certain is a magical cave.

Pap will do whatever Bora$$ tells him to do.

Yay, lets go bringing politics into the game thread. That's just bringing the dumbassery of game threads to a new low, which has been a trend itself over the course of this season especially.

To everyone who can't let go of the defensive changes, yes, you want your Gold Glover in the field for the whole game, but in the final inning, with a lead, you should trust that any of the utility guys on your roster can handle a couple ground balls or popups should the closer not strike someone out with extreme prejudice.

That's what the Sox pay these guys for. If you don't think they can handle three outs at first base, why are they on the team at all? Oh, yeah...to give guys like Youk a spell now and then. Like they were tonight.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Politics, if you hadn't noticed, is a near-zero-tolerance subject on this board. Shut it, now. Or you can join NateGrey on whatever politics (or more likely completely unrelated to politics) message board he's on now.

Like I said, it's irrelevant provided we win. Which we did. Therefore it's over.

I didn't realize this was the Democratic Nation Convention thread, nor did I realize this was a political website. Please continue.

I'll put it like this, even when the sox are winning, people are complaining or being pessimistic. When they lose, it feels like they've just been mathematically eliminated. Not to mention, most of the gamethread posts consist of "s***"s "f*** that"s "god damnit"s and "********"s. There's very few intelligent posts in game threads anymore.

Aceves gives up the tying run, blows the save, and then gets the win.Wake gets screwed.

Same thing happened to Garcia last night with the Cardinals.

Isn't it about time MLB addressed this? You should not get the win if you blow a save.

The win should revert to the SP who left with the lead. Common sense.

When you put it that way... I agree completely.

There's about 10 posters, I won't name names, who have 95% or more of their post count consisting of 5-word-or-less posts in the game thread. Most of the posters who've been regulars with over 2,000 posts that joined within the last year are people who just spam the game threads with nonsense.

Yup. You're not allowed to be passionate or show any emotion on Talksox. Otherwise you're accused of spamming the gamethreads with nonsense by a poster who might post 3-5 times per GT.

I get that... then again, that's kind of what game threads are about. It's a virtual gathering of fans... it would be the same if I were hanging out with my buddies watching the game where the Sox f***ed up a lot and made it tense. A bunch of "s***"s "f*** that"s "god damnit"s and "********"s. Not saying it wouldn't be nice to enhance the dialogue a bit, but it is what it is.

I think you're confusing passion with mindlessness. Does it really take that much effort to put some thought into a post? I even post a "Woo" or a "s***" here and there, but I don't do it constantly to rack up a quick hundred posts every time something happens. Why's it so bad to miss the old game threads where intelligent posters made intelligent posts?

Well this certainly isn't helping.

I came to post about how awesome it was to see comebacks 2 nights in a row though, so let's talk about that and not PICK FIGHTS ABOUT EVERYTHING ARRRGAGRHGHHHHHHHHHH FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT WOO WOO

I'm not going to argue anymore about it. All I'm going to say is that if you're going to call someone out, at least call them out on a type of thread where you actively participate. Nobody goes into the "What kind of music are you listening to?" and drops F bombs or anything.

When you do nothing else and contribute zero to the rest of the board, it's a problem. You're missing her point.

Now, everyone, and I mean everyone, stop. Now. Talk about the game, not each other, or I am going to be...perturbed. Yes, yes. Perturbed. I like the sound of that.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really see people posting "s***"s "f*** that"s "god damnit"s and "********"s just to pad their post count in the course of a game. It's more about people posting their first thought than it is anything else IMO.
