Erik Bedard DL Pool

To add some excitement to the home stretch of the season, I came up with the dumb idea of starting an Erik Bedard DL pool. Here are the terms. Anyone who wants to participate can select the date that they believe Bedard will go on the DL this season. Whatever poster guesses the closest date to the actual date that he's placed on the DL will get to select my avatar for a week. BUT, if I make the closest guess to the actual date that he goes on the DL, everyone who participated has to use an avatar of my chosing for a day. In the case of a tie, the poster who selected the closest date before the date he was placed on the DL would be the winner. If he stays healthy the entire rest of the year, we as Red Sox fans win because that means John Lackey's not our 3rd starter. It's really a win-win.

Bedard is known to have a problem with the media, so that's understandable.

He went five innings and 70 pitches. I believe that was close to the original plan for his first start coming off his recent inactivity and knee problems.

Nope my friend, Cinco de Mayo we celebrate "La batalla de Puebla". It's funny, 'cause in Mexico the most important day is on 15th September, and somehow (that I don't understand), the Mexican people who lives in the States celebrate Cinco de Mayo as the most important day, and it is not at all.

In all seriousness, I hope he continues to pitch well for us. Considering statements he made years ago to his college coach about wanting to play here, I think he's going to be more motivated than he was pitching for last place teams.
