Jon Lester (strained lat) is scheduled to return to the Red Sox rotation on Tuesday, July 26 against the Royals at Fenway Park.

Lester is scheduled for a bullpen session Monday. He's been on the disabled list since July 6 with a left latissimus strain. "I think he was actually aggravated. He wanted to pitch Friday. So I think that's good news for us that he must feel good," manager Terry Francona said. "But we need to give him a chance where he can go out and not be stuck on 60 pitches in his first comeback." Lester is scheduled to start on Andrew Miller's turn in the rotation, but expect the Red Sox to option Kyle Weiland to the minors to make room for the veteran left-hander.
