I hate to say it' date=' but... something cancer related?[/quote']

I don't think that would be the case. I'd be shocked if he even started the game if there was potential for that. I could see family emergency, but my guess is cramps and/or dehydration.

No worries guys, I just received word that Dr. Gill is transplanting stem cells into all of the Red Sox starters arms as I'm typing this.

After what happened with Colon, I fully expect Josh Beckett to be firing .45 Caliber hollow points out of his right arm.

Epstein was just waiting on clearance from MLB to have the procedure performed on all of our starters. He's so ahead of the curve!

Matt Albers had same injury to his right side when he went on DL earlier this year. Came off the list on time.

I'd doubt Lester starts Sunday. Sounds like a DL for sure. More to come after the game.

Is that bad?

well, there is not more details, but maybe just got a little tension in his latissimus dorsi.

Hope is not that bad.!

At least it's not a shoulder, elbow or hammy. From what I've read on previous players with lat strains it's highly dependent on the severity of the strain. There are players who were out 15 days and players who were out 6 weeks.

Hopefully we'll get lucky and it isn't anything that'll be a lengthy time out.

If it's not that severe of a strain, he may avoid a DL stint and just skip his start on Sunday, get 4 days off, and then make his next start on the 19th. That'd give him 15 days rest, so I guess a DL stint would be the same.
