#11 will always be Frank Malzone to me.

 

At one time, I totally agreed. I remember the Sox issued #11 to Tony Horton (1966 I think) after Malzone retired, and I was really bummed. Frank Malzone was the only #11 I had known on the Sox.

 

Luis Aparicio was the first since Malzone I was okay with wearing the number because he had been a great player with the White Sox and Orioles. I associated him with that number.

I'm in a dilemma as well. I want a new player T-shirt but I don't know what to get. I currently have Ortiz, Varitek, Lowell, Ellsbury, Youk, and my own custom player T-shirt. You're probably thinking why I need/want another one. Here's why:

 

Ortiz: Too small got it a few years back. If my brother wasn't fat I'd give it to him and maybe convert him into a baseball and Sox fan.

 

Varitek: Same reason getting too small.

 

Lowell: Doesn't play for the team anymore which isn't a problem I just want someone current.

 

Youuuuuuuk: Nothing wrong with this one.

 

Ellsbury: I have his old number so I don't wear it as much, although 46 was better than 2.

 

Custom T-shirt: I have my last name but it has the number 9. That number was retired by Williams and feel like it's a spit in the face.

 

Anyways, I really really want a A-god player T-shirt but I'd feel kind of messed up getting the new guys shirt. There's Pedroia, Papelbon, Lester, and Beckett that I could get but like I said I want an A-God player T-shirt. If you were in my shoes which one would you get?

I agree with Palodios. I like the idea of having a player's jersey from the their team before the Red Sox. I want to get a Beckett Marlins jersey and I remember looking for a D-Backs Schilling.
