Jersey Dilemma

I've been pondering dropping some cash on a few new Sox jerseys but don't know whose to get. I'll have cash for a couple and I've already decided that I want a new Beckett to replace my old one and have opted for a road #19. The trouble is I don't know what to do for the second one, I wanna have something unique and am thinking about whose name to put on a personalized jersey. I also kind of want a Beckett Marlins jersey. I'm torn between Salty, Dave Roberts, or a Marlins Beckett to go with the Sox one. If there are any ideas you guys have for something cool, let me hear them. I can't decide myself though.

You should get a home red or a road blue jersey. I have a road blue Pedroia jersey. If you want to go with longevity, you could go with Pedroia, Lester, Buch, Craw, or Gonzo.

 

Or you could get a Lackey jersey and try to sneak on the mound and give us a quality start every once in a while from that slot in the rotation. :dunno:

I'm thinking guys from the '04 squad. I'm going with the Red home because the White Marlins jersey's just gonna get dirty (I have bad luck with keeping white jerseys clean) I'm considering Millar or Mueller along wiht Roberts. Tough decision

Oh ok my bad. I like the idea of getting a Roberts jersey. If you decide to get a Kevin Millar one make sure you tell everyone "don't let us win" I wasn't really a fan back then so I don't really know much of the players.I was only 10. Some players I remember though are Nixon and Nomar? :dunno:

Replica jerseys are around 100 but the official site has that at 20 bucks off. f***, it's actually cheaper to buy two jerseys from the site than 3 shirts and a jersey from fansedge. Beckett and Roberts then. I'll have the cash for the rest down the road, I love having a job with no necessities to pay for.

go with your own personalized jersey. your name will never retire from being a sox fan. i have so many old jerseys from past players that i really only take out on special occasions. the whole left side of my closet is filled with old garciaparra, martinez, schill, etc. i'm thinking about just hanging those up on my wall to officially retire them. but if you had to go with one now, grab a red gonzo jersey. white gets too dirty and Agon is gonna be a beast for years to come!

I refuse to buy white for that reason. I will pay special care to keeping it clean and I'll still find some scuff or obscure pen mark. It always happens. I swear my f***ing Varitek jersey came out of the box scuffed up.

lol... i hear ya... and anytime you go to the ballpark you can guarantee stains! and there is no dry-cleaner or magic stick or shout that will get stains out of the white jerseys... definitely don't waster your money.... especially on an authentic....

I stick to replicas with jerseys. The stains came out of 'tek decent enough but I'm sticking to road grays and reds from now on.

you don't have to only buy the "real" tiant t-shirt jersey. there's plenty of sites that will custom make a shirt for you. just say that your last name is tiant and you want #23.

I think that's cool, the #46 Ells. I didn't like it when it he switched to 2. I only do jerseys for guys that have since departed or guys who have been on the team for a while. I have a very old Schilling from 3rd grade, an authentic home Beckett from '06 thats beat up, a cooperstown collection road Yaz that has some scuffing on the bottom left side but nothing that won't come out with bleach, a white Tek, and a red Pedey.

I think it's pretty sweet that Aceves wears 91, don't see that everyday. I wish Beckett would switch to 21. He grew up idolizing the Rocket and my bet is he wore it in Florida because of that. Why do we not re-issue 21? It isn't like Roger's done us any favors.

I liked #46 better than #2, also. The higher numbers on outfielders are unique and cool. I was okay with Buccholz changing to #11 from #61 though. That number will always seem to be Bronson Arroyo to me.
