Finally, I hope the FO learned a bitter lesson about letting any of their players, especially pitchers, play for their home countries in the WBC. They are paid handsomely to perform in the major leagues. If they insist on playing for their homeland, they should be willing to tear up their contracts. Dice K was never the same physically after the last WBC. It was terribly poor judgment to let him participate in the WBC, and they paid for it with 4 wasted years from Dice K.

On that note... Dice-k will be healthy right in time for the 2013 WBC.

There was a lack of due diligence done in this case. He was extravagantly overpaid for a guy who Bobby Valentine had correctly characterized as an end of the rotation starter. If they had anticipated significant revenue streams from Japan, they were admittedly wrong about that too.

Plus there was a whole lot of argument back and forth about Dice-K's training regiments vs. the training and conditioning customs that the Red Sox (and other teams) have implemented. One could argue that those discrepancies (along with Dice-K's stubbornness and the difference in scheduling of Japanese baseball vs. American baseball) and this situation might be less of a surprise.

Hopefully' date=' he is under contract with the Yankees at that point.[/quote']

Don't talk like that. You have to atleast see that he has stuff to magically turn into a Yankee ace, and that's the last thing we want to see.

If Andrew Miller could just harness a little control he would be an enormous addition to our rotation. Even with a 6.47 BB/9 in AAA, he's still posting a 2.47 ERA. To me, that translates to complete domination when he's throwing strikes. He's got a respectable 7.42 K/9 down there too.

Kyle Weiland is crushing the AAA competition as well. He's got a 3.10 ERA this year through 58 IP, while sporting a lofty 10.09 K/9 and a 2.6:1 K/BB ratio.

I know Miller is a project, so I'm ok with leaving him in AAA until he can refine his command, because when he does he's going to be dominant. As for right now, though, I'd much, much rather see us give the 5th spot to a guy like Kyle Weiland over Wakefield. He's a young kid with something to prove who can bring a spark to the rotation, and looking at it from a long term perspective, what better time to bring up a young SP than when you've got a team who can push 14 runs on any given night? Weiland could very well be a future starter for our team. Wakefield is just a bridge. Give the ball to Weiland.

Just listened to Remy. I feel nothing for DK, he sucks. He became a rich motherf***er for basically nothing when he signed with the Redsox. I wish he never puts on the Redsox uniform again. Get rid of this dead weight, move the f*** on Theo.
