I feel like most of the people who say they hate Glee have also never watched Glee.

I have not watched Glee, but I also don't hate it.

I'm not one of them. My wife watches Glee, and I can say, with full confidence backed up by the legitimacy of having had to sit through that show, that is in an unmitigated suckfest of TV programming. I wouldn't mind letting the leading lady work out her vocals on my microphone, though.

Throw strikes Daisuke. Throw f***ing strikes.

One of the stat guys on the other thread I post on did an analysis last year on DiceK's success when he walks a lot of guys vs when he is more centered and throwing more strikes. I don't remember all the details, but the conclusion was that when he is walking more guys and nibbling more he is more successful in terms of runs allowed. Strange that runs allowed for him is inversely correlated with walks allowed. Apparently his is just more successful when he nibbles, even though that drives us nuts.

This is likely skewed heavily by his 2008 season, where he had a habit of walking the bases loaded, and then would proceed to get the next three batters out. You would also notice that his best starts-- where he is truly "on", his walk numbers are actually much lower. In all of his 7+ IP starts in his career, in only two of them did he walk 5 batters, and the rest are lower than that.

The tarp is coming off the field and first pitch is still set for 7:10 p.m. If that changes, we will let you know.

You are probably right. It would be interesting to see a graph of the Mound Rodent's balls to strikes ratio vs runs allowed to see if he is a true nibbler or a false nibbler (ie one who just cannot throw strikes). I also wonder if Japanese baseball consists of more nibbling than pounding the K zone and if this is a difference in pitching styles here vs there.

Glad they put Lackey on the DL. He needs that.

Wonder who will start for him tomorrow. I'd like to see how Andrew Miller, Felix Doubront, or Aceves can do.

Please, for the love of God, do NOT start Wakefield.

O's announcers just said 15 day DL for Lackey too. I read Atchinson had been seen in the club house earlier but Tito played it down. Guess Wake will start tomorrow?

God that's such terrible news. Wakefield is just a forfeit. I hate having him start when we have Doubront, Miller, and Aceves.

Since it's retroactive to his last start in Toronto, he might only miss 2 start to get his head cleared.

Wake will take his place. It's pretty much guaranteed.
