I figure I'm takin one for the team here, in terms of starting threads.

 

Wake started against SEA last year, who threw Felix, so it's a bit of a rematch. Wakefield went 5.2 IP and allowed 3 ER. Felix went 7.2 and allowed 1 ER.

 

Wakefield has a career 4.18 ERA vs SEA. Felix has a career 1.23 ERA at Fenway over 29.1 IP, and a career 2.91 ERA vs BOS overall.

 

Against Felix, Crawford hits .286, Drew hits .391, and Gonzo hits .296. All of those players have had more than 20 AB against Felix.

I think, this is a bigger game than we've been expecting it to be. If they lose, well, who cares, it is a given. But if they win, it'll be a hardfought contest that gets into the Sox bullpen early, and needs big bats late. I would bet that winning this kind of matchup will get them fired up real quick.

I want to hear someone go ape s***. Whether it be Francona, Youkilis, Pedroia, Ortiz, or even Lackey. I don't care. I want to hear and see someone let the frustrations of the season get to them and pump up the team. I thought when Luke Scott took 18 seconds to get out of the batters box, Beckett would drill him and start a fight. And I thought that would get this team amped up. But that didn't happen, so someone else needs to come in and amp this team up, because they're playing way too flat right now, and they're making s***** pitchers look like Cy Youngs.

youk hurt and he at least has done something but I agree.

Crawford is not coming up in nearly as many big spots like dustin and david for sure most at bats this year with RISP (5-32) and most of those early in the year
