Was watching ESPN and they were doing a lineup card for the Phillies. To tell you the truth I am not afraid.

Victorino, CF

Polanco, 3B

Rollins, SS

Howard, 1B

Ibanez, LF

Francisco, B, RF

Ruiz, C

Valdez, W, 2B

Halladay, P

I bet when Utley comes back it will be a little more scary but that lineup says nothing to me.

So it got me thinking What MLB lineup scares you the most if you were the opposing pitcher.

I would think that As a Red Sox the Yankees still have a scary lineup with 3 players capable of hitting at least 25+ HRs.

The Orioles have a pretty good lineup with power all over the place and a lot of projection from some of their young players. If healthy, they will put up runs with the best of them:

Roberts 2B

Jones CF

Markakis RF

Guerrero DH

Scott LF

Reynolds 3B

Lee 3B

Wieters C

Hardy SS

They have 5 20+ HR guys (Jones, Guerrero, Scott, Reynolds, Lee) two that could break the 20 HR plateau (Markakis, Roberts) and some good OBP guys in the middle of the order. They will also eat lefties for breakfast.

There's also the White Sox, who, with the addition of Dunn, and a healthy Quentin and Beckham, boast a pretty formidable lineup:

Pierre

Beckham

Dunn

Konerko

Rios

Quentin

Pierzynski

Ramirez

Morel

Power (20+ HR potential from Dunn, Konerko, Rios, Quentin, Ramirez, Beckham) and Speed (Double digit steal potential from Pierre, Beckham, Rios and Ramirez) mixed in with good on base ability from the middle of the lineup, and a very solid bench that works favorably in matchups.

5 actually. Cano, Tex, Arod, Swisher, Granderson. Posada probably can hit 15-20 as a DH, possibly Montero over the course of a full season, and so could Jones, despite being who he is. They're about as scary as lineups come for a BoSox fan.

Another "if"....

If the Twins can stay healthy, and, this is the bigger "if", if they get more progression out of Delmon Young and Denard Span (Kubel too), the Twins could pose some problems for pitchers.

They have a heart of Mauer, Morneu, Young, Cuddyer, Kubel/Thome. Not bad.

As I have already mentioned

I would pay more attention

to Tampa Bay's Evan

and his AK-47

Violating the Geneva Conventions

A formidable lineup, I'd say

When on any offense-dry day

He can fire a burst

As a runner clears first

And they'll score freely, no matter the play

(And let's not forget Minnesota

They always have Delmon to go t'

If their running game's flat

He can hurl a bat

and give them time to turn on the motor)

I was playing MLB 2011 the show a bunch lately, and I will tell you, going through the sox lineup is f***ing murder. Granted, it is a video game, but the grinding nature of everyone in the lineup really is bothersome

Unfortunately, Dunn is going to be out at least a week. Had to have an emergency appendectomy last night.

lol, the Phillies lineup doesn't scare you? Ok, ok. What about their pitching rotation? Could you imagine having to face Cole Hamels coming out of the bullpen in the playoffs?
