Jeter is so terrible. His double was a well placed fly ball and the announcers swooned over it like it was a Ruthian blast. Seriously, he is f***ing done. DONE. I'll take Nunez with his defensive inefficiencies, he at least has some exciting at bats and shows he can do something more than chop the ball in front of the 3b. Get Jete his 3,000th hit then transition him to bench duty. God he sucks

Will Jeter hurry up and get the f***ing 3000th hit already' date=' I'm sick of hearing about it.[/quote']

I mean seriously. They hype this s*** up way to much, s*** it could be a Red Sox player and I would not like to see them get this much air time. Even whem the Yankees lose they still manage to mention Derek Jeter this Derek Jeter that. Yes, it's a proud moment but hold up on the coverage at least until he gets his 3,000th hit. My god I can't stand watching ESPN sometimes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for a million dollars, Bonds 700th HR ball went sold for over $800,000

The guy who caught the ball just wanted Jeter to have it' date=' true Yankees fan right there.[/quote']

Listening to that now. They gave him season tickets for the rest of 2011, though, among other things. Not too shabby.

I know what you mean, I'm happy he finally got it and it will be done being talked about.

Is it true that the guy that caught Jeters 3000 gave the ball back for free?

Yeah its true, it was a 23 year old kid who sells cell phones for a living too, he probably could have used the money.

The Yankees hooked him up with tickets to the best seats for the rest of the season though and gave him a bunch of autographed stuff.

Yeah that's what I heard, I'm stunned that he gave it back for free.
