Except none of you know when A-Rod started. We can be pretty accurate about when Bonds probably started, which is most likely immediately following his arrival in SF, when he started hitting 40+ homers annually, and slugging over .600 annually.

I'm sick of hearing how Bonds was a 600 homer guy before the juice, he was hitting 25-30 homers per year in Pittsburgh. He may have been washed up after ten good years for all we know.

Finally, if they allow Bonds or A-Rod into the Hall, that means Manny probably gets in too, but I think it's after they allow Pete Rose and Joe Jackson in.

Game of Shadows chronicles the Bonds PED usage pretty thoroughly. He started after Mac hit 70 in '98. He was pissed about all the attention Mac was getting when he knew Mac was using PEDs. I think it's a safe bet to say he was a 40+ HR guy w/o PEDs.

A-Rod had his best season in 2007, when he was clearly off steroids. He certainly didn't need them to be great.

I took androstenedione back in '99 when I was in the Marines, back when it was still legal as an over the counter drug. I took it for 3 months and saw some pretty quick growth and increases in strength. When I stopped, I continued my workout program, and I didn't lose any strength. So, PED give you unnatural growth that you can maintain without continuing the PED. If he was truly clean in 2007, some of what made him that good was the strength he gained with anabolic steroids. Clean or not, they contributed. And, I don't think there's any way you can say for sure that he was clean with any degree of confidence.

The Guardians were 1-9 in their last 10 before the win tonight, and had a record of 10-23 between May 1st and June 7th, when MLB.com's power rankings were released. They are going downhill fast. By the end of June they will be in at least third place. There was no way they were going to keep playing the way they were in April, any more than the Red Sox were going to.

LOL no you guys just suck. I wouldn't say your like the Pirates but the way they played in April-May was unreal. Don't expect to repeat that type of performance and I say this with complete faith that you'll miss the playoffs. I'll be right here to eat a big plate of s*** if they do.

The Tribe have been outscored almost by a 2:1 margin this month, and got outscored last month. Fortunately, they play in the AL Central, but not even that will save them.

BTW, I think Pirates are going to finish with a better record than the Tribe.

No No No No No No No No No No No No. T

The tribe hasn't even started hitting yet. Choo hasn't hit hit. Santana hasn't hit. Laporta hasn't hit. Sizemore has been on the DL most of the year, same as Hafner.

Absolutely you're right they're not hitting

Cleveland's batting average since June 2 .201. 6 for 68 with RISP ouch.

It was a fluke of a hot start, same with the Marlins. Wait till the season is over so you can see for yourself.

In all fairness, the Marlins haven't had Josh Johnson for a month.

I didn't know Johnson pitches every game. They lost Hanley too. Sure they lost some good players but they have some solid players. They're just very inconsistent' date=' this coming from someone who watches Marlins games.[/quote']

That would mean something if they were in the gutter, but they're still around .500 baseball. Add a legitimate ace and a MVP contender to a .500 team, and you're back into playoff contention.

Hafner and Sizemore on the DL isn't exactly a rare thing.

It's a Cleveland thing. I know we're all homers but he's beyond that. Ask him who he thinks will win the Super Bowl and the NBA finals next year. Bet both teams are from Cleveland, let him dream while we stay here in reality.

BTW, ESPN radio mentioned that Jesus Montero and Ramiro Pena are at Yankee Stadium tonight. Martin is out again with a back issue and the Yanks are pretty sure that Jeter will need the DL. Why they dont just DL them both is beyond me. Nunez can handle SS if given regular PT and Martin has been useless for the past month plus, and especially useless when he tried to play through the back pain. Neither of them are hitting well right now, some rest might benefit them both. The only downside for Martin is that he might become Wally Pipp. If Montero comes up and smashes the ball, Martin may never see the field with regularity again

RSFFL Don't you think the red sox will win it all this year? Isn't that a homer? You think the Pats will win it all this year too? Wouldn't that be a homer?

Last I checked, JJ's only missed significant time really from his Tommy John Surgery. He is an everyday pitcher. This is sort of like those guys who thought Ellsbury was not an everyday player because of last year's injuries, idk why people keep saying it, or why people kept saying it, but they do until they check for themselves.

JJ is no fluke, he's the real deal, if it weren't for Mike Stanton, he would have pulled off 12 straight games giving up one run or less, to break Gibson's record. On top of that, he had one of the most dominant first months in history.
