Josh Beckett. No statistical or physical evidence for this based on his spring, but I just think once the season starts he is going to be great. Plus it's an odd year, which has in the past indicated greatness.

Ill go with the obvious choice and say Jon Lester.

I really hope Beckett has a solid bounce back season this year though, he was pretty horrible last year and the Sox are going to need him.

Interesting. I didn't think anyone would pick a reliever.

Lester..........but I do like the Bard pick as well.

Biggest surprise? DiceK. I think he turns it on this year.

I know. I'm not criticizing his pick I just thought everyone would pick a starter over a reliever. Nothing wrong with Bard. He's the best in the pen.

Hence......best redsox pitcher, not starting pitcher :D

Lester is pretty consistent, though he tends to start slowly in the first month. In fact, the team doesn't exactly sprint out of the box.

Looks like Buchholz will be good again. He's pitching Tuesday.

Lackey might be in better shape this year. Beckett has become about as big an enigma as Dice-K.

Fortunately, the Yankees have CC, Hughes and 3 days of rain. That helps.

Buchholz - Lester. A very close 1,2.

Btw, although picking up 2 fine everyday players, PITCHING will be what separates the Red Sox from the rest of the AL.

Josh Beckett. lol j/k

It's not out of the realm of possibility. When he's healthy he can sling it like he did last night, and that gets you in the conversation.

If Josh Beckett can consistently hit 94-95 on the gun and when his curve is working like it did last night, he's pretty unhittable. Question is, was last night an aberration or can we expect a return to form?

I read that Pedro is getting himself in shape and that he would like to return to the Red Sox. I say get him and send Dice K on a humanitarian mission to help the earthquake victims in Japan.
