I Saw on Twitter yesterday that they had the Rays-2 Toronto-4 NYY-9 Boston was 11.

This is from their handbook... Go to a Barnes and Noble(book store), they sell them there you can check for yourself.

Opps Typo i didnt mean they. i meant someone. sorry. But i guess it matters who you trust more.

The other 16 teams are also on the draft' date=' you know.[/quote']

True, but few teams have as much money, or as many picks as the Red Sox do, let alone the previous track record of success through the draft.

Oh you're thinking of Theo's list...

theo would have himself ahead of the yankees. but it was a MLB sports writer.

Yes twas a joke. It was Keither Law aka Theo.

This draft wont change these rankings next season, maybe 2 yrs down the line. Regardless, the reason why the Yanks are 5 is their upper level talent, their pitching talent, and their catching talent. As it stands right now, we arent going to be tapping into too much of it this season with Martin in the fold and if Pettitte returns. So unless Cash unloads the farm for a prime time player, I expect the Yanks to be top 5 again next yr. For the sox, their 2011 draft is moot for the 2012 rankings, but I love their 2009 draft and likes their 2010 draft a lot. If the kids from the 09 draft graduate well into the long season leagues, then the sox should jump up into the #12-14 range

Keith Law came out with his top 100 prospect list today, and he was pretty kind to the Yankees.

4. Montero

13. Banuelos

68. Sanchez

73. Betances

88. Brackman

I don't have Insider, so I have no idea where he has the Sox prospects. Additionally he was Trout at one and Harper at two. What do you guys think, going forward, Trout or Harper?

Romine was in the just missed he so he's somewhere between 101 and 110.

Jose Iglesias was 45

Anthony Ranaudo 54

Drake Britton 90

Is Kalish still technically considered a prospect?

Yes, he's still very much a prospect. He spent just 2 month with the team. He's not going to be here with Cameron/McDonald as backup who could play fulltime.

He exhausted his rookie status, which i believe is what he meant. For the BA rankings, he is no longer a prospect.

No problems here. Kalish is going to be an absolute stud. I don't care if he's on BA's top prospects or not. Anyone who saw him play last year knows he's going to be a stud. Kid is a dirt dog, I can't wait to see him take over in RF next year. Definitely a guy I'm really excited about seeing play everyday.

Jumping from AA, quick pit stop in AAA, and then coming up to the MLB and contributing the way he did? I know he didn't put up flashy stats, but that kid is still raw and when he gets a full year of AAA under his belt, he's going to be special.

And no one disagrees, but for the purposes of this thread (the rankings) Kalish exhausting his rookie status is a significant blow to the Sox system, which is what's being discussed here.

Did you want me to take a picture of the rankings?

Lingo has Montero 4th and Sanchez 29th. No Red Sox

Manuel has Montero 3rd, Sanchez 17th and Manny 20th. No Red Sox

Callis has Montero 3rd and Sanchez 47th. Ranaudo 44th

I find it hard to feel negative about mediocre prospect rankings when the Sox have so many positions filled for several years. With the exception of catcher, they really don't have any holes to fill for two years. Bard replaces Papelbon, Kalish replaces Drew.

You're right. Here's the Sox projected 2014 lineup

C Lavarnway

1B -Agon

2B Pedo

3B- Cecchini

SS- Iglesias

LF Crawford

CF- Ellsbury

RF- Kalish

DH- Youkalis

Lester, Buchholz, Becket, Ranaudo and Britton and Papelbon as the closer.

Well, the sox were weak at the upper levels, then traded their two best prospects in Rizzo and Kelly. Didnt help that Iglesias hasnt shown much with the bat and Anderson fizzled out. Regardless, but 2012, 2013, I think they will have a few top 100s again once the kids show what they are made of

2 years ago some thought Anderson would be the Sox's 1B by now, Reddick in the OF and Michael Bowden in the rotation. Sometimes they don't work out.

What does that have to do with my post? They were single A prospects two years ago. Not a proven mlb player like Bard, or a player who clearly looks to make an impact like Kalish.

You claim Kalish will replace Drew and Bard will replace Paps. Read YOUR post again.
