This game will be a complete shootout. Both offenses are extremely explosive with Super Bowl winning quarterbacks headlining their rosters. Upon review of their selective teams; I think I like WB's defense more than JBays, but the opposite is true for the offenses. In a game this close, it really could come down to scheme and special teams. Tomlin is a great motivator but I think Smith is the most underrated coach in the game. Like the ital/CD matchup, I think it's basically a toss-up as to who would win this game, but I like WB in a close decision. I think Roethlisberger will be able to buy some time with his feet against Jbay's defense and he will look to make plays down the field against what I find to be a defensive backfield who's aggressiveness might come back to haunt them.

WB 30, JBay 28

wow.. this game is really a shoot out.. i think i like jbays offense slightly more and dont see either defense stopping the opposing offense.. 38-35 jbay

I think that this matchup is the other close 2nd round matchup (other than Y228 and YH), but that matchup was a defensive one with points at a premium, and this one appears to be more of a track meet. I also favour Jbay's offense, and WhiskeyBreath's defense.

The thing that I like about both of these teams, is that even though they don't have the best offense in the league or the best defense in the league, they are reasonably good at both. I see YH and Y228 as very good defensive teams with ok offenses, and I see these 2 teams as more balanced.

Anyway, moving onto this particular matchup, I like WhiskeyBreath's defense more and JBay's offense more. I do think that Brees may have taken a slight step backwards or at least appears more inconsistent at times, but I'd still take him over Roethlisberger. They both have very good offensive lines, but I see WhiskeyBreath's 4-3 causing more pressure for JBay's offensive line than JBay's 3-4 on WhiskeyBreath's offensive line, and seeing how hard Roethlisberger is to take down, I don't see JBay getting many sacks. I like both team's RB's, but I see this being more of a passing game, and while Brees has the edge over Roethlisberger, Brees has to deal with a very good secondary that has one of the best cover corners in the NFL. JBay might as well be taking one of his WR's off of his roster.

I'd give WhiskeyBreath a slight edge at WR, but I don't see that deciding the match. What benefits JBay is that he's less relient on top heavy WR's which is good because I don't see his top options contributing much. I'm also not a fan of Mike Jenkins as a cover corner, and I think that Calvin Johnson and Vincent Jackson should feast on Jbay's corners (although Jbay has good safeties).

That said, in a close game, a few things stand out. I like Whiskeybreath's coach (Tomlin) over Smith, and I like Jbay's kicker and kick returner over WhiskeyBreath's. I'd give extra points to WhiskeyBreath because I like his bench better, having an extra corner and defensive line player will come in handy in this game, and I think that Tebow and a 3rd RB (that isn't a kick returner) is a waste of a draft pick.

I feel bad because this is also a close 2nd round matchup, and I had WhiskeyBreath among my top 4 teams (like Y228), and Jbay as one of those teams just outside the top 4 (with YH). I think the deciding factors will be WB's better ability to create pressure for Jbay, WB's suffocating corners, and more beneficial "extras". I think the points I'd deduct from Jbay's poor bench choices would equal out the difference I'd place between kickers. I don't think it would be easy for either team, but I think that WhiskeyBreath's team is a little bit better than JBay's, so I'd have to give him the nod here.

I love both team's passing offense, and I agree with everyone who has said this will be a shootout. I don't have anything to go besides the personnel, so based of that I'll assume that both teams are going to throw the ball a lot. I think the passing offenses are pretty much a wash, as I'd give JBay the edge at QB, but WB the edge at WR.

So with that being said, I think this comes down to the ability to defend the pass, which I see WB doing a better job of. I like his pass rush and secondary better, which I think gives him the win in a close, high scoring affair.

I also think that the game will be a shootout, but unlike some others I don't think that WB really has a better defense. Revis is a beast, but jbay has a lot of underrated pieces in his secondary and his linebackers. Both teams are going to get some pressure, and both teams have excellent offensive lines. What it comes down to me is how they are going to get their points. jbay44 has four tall fast receivers, and I really don't think it is possible for a defense of nearly any caliber to stop that. Even if Revis shuts down Austin, Mike Wallace can outrun anyone on the field, and Britt and Williams are tall explosive targets. I also like jbay's PR/KR better and Tim Tebow off the bench in three years could run some interest play types that would make his team even more dangerous

I vote jbay44

I disagree with WB getting much pressure on Brees. My offensive line is very good and he has some guys who I think wont be that effective. Antwan Odom isn't that good (who by the way only has 4 tackles in 4 games with no sacks so far this year), he has 23.5 sacks in this being his 7th year and thats including 5 that came in one game vs a Packers O-line that was terrible last year. He is averaging a little over 3 sacks a year. Vanden Bosch is already on the decline and will be 35 in 3 years. Yes, his DT's are good, but Maurkice Pouncey just held his own against arguably the best defensive lineman in the league in Haloti Ngata, in 3 years as he continues to develop, I don't see his defensive line being an issue. Also, Terrell Suggs is a 3-4 OLB playing in a 4-3 defense, which doesn't bode well for him. If I really needed too, I could also keep Heath Miller, who is one of best blocking TE's in the NFL back to help out.

About my bench: Tebow was selected because I didn't see another really "appealing" QB option and Tebow does have potential, he wasn't selected in the first round because he sucks and has no potential. Blount was selected as a short yardage/goal line back, something since he was at Oregon has proved he can be effective at and is having a very solid year so far this season.

I should of explained some of this earlier and thats my fault but I've been busy lately.

I'm not saying that you had a bad team or anything Jbay. It doesn't help that you're going against the team that I put 1st in the power rankings, and I'm not ripping on Tebow and Blount as players (although I hate Tebow and UF) but I don't think they were wise bench choices for your team, especially with your 2 backs already. I liked your team, but I had put it on the outside looking in on the top 4, right with YH's team.

I'll say though, that Pouncey pick has looked better and better.

I vote for WB, as mentioned its no secret this match-up would be a shootout , but I think the deciding factor comes down to to pass Defense in which WB has the advantage, giving him the win.
