Sounds to me like he's stating the obvious. What else would Gonzo do if a deal doesn't get done? Retire?

My point is that people expect this extension to get done right after opening day. I'm not expecting that.

I stronglly believe that they have a deal in place the Red Sox just do not want to go through with it untill proven that Gonzo is healthy which is understood by both sides prolly 7 years 150-160 million

It was prolly to do with the Luxury Tax. Not as much with the health.

Yeah definitely it freed up the money for us to go out and get Crawford, hes already helped the team 10 fold without stepping onto the field.

Fair enough. I disagree, I think the deal is done in theory and the only thing left to do is sign the papers when we don't have to drop extra money for CBT purposes.

 

I have more faith in Theo than to send Kelly, Rizzo, and Fuentes over to SD for 1 year of Gonzo + negotiating rights.

 

Theo has to know exactly what Gonzo wants, and has to be comfortable enough with the money that he knows it's all just paperwork at this point.

I plan on getting an Agon jersey. But I'm holding off until next season for 2 reasons,

 

1. To make sure he signs and is with the team long term.

2. To make sure he doesn't change numbers next year after Cameron leaves.
