A REASON TO BACK UP YOUR VOTE IS MANDATORY FOR IT TO COUNT. 4 VOTES TO WIN

Posted

Whatever way you like

I usually do it position by position, rating the depth at each position

In my opinion, I think Coco has a better frontcourt and Flynnatic has a better backcourt.

Andrew Bynum >> Brook Lopez (since injuries don't count, otherwise I'd take Lopez since he's on the court)

Kevin Love >>> Joakim Noah

Kevin Durant >> Ron Artest (although Ron Artest is underrated defensively, but Durant is one of the best players in the NBA, imagine what he will be in 3 years)

but

Monta Ellis

and Rodney Stuckey

So I think that Coco has a better starting 5, but one of the 2 positions that Flynnatic is superior in is one of the more important positions in the game. Note how the Heat are a game or two above .500 with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh but without a point guard.

The benches are pretty good as well, but I like the potential of Coco's bench more. I think that Flynnatic's bench is more balanced and a lot in the way of shooters, but I think that Martin, Deng, and Beasley have the potential to be dominant bench players. I think that George Hill is underrated (as a Spurs fan) and I think that Flynnatic dominates the point position. I think that Flynnatic has a small victory in the SG position, but I'm basing that on Gordon's potential with Crawford and that Ellis is inconsistent and plays a different style of game from Stuckey.

That said, I think that Coco sweeps the SF, PF, and C spots, assuming that Bynum stays healthy. Since injuries aren't a factor here, I can't deduct from Coco for Bynum (like I can't deduct from ytrb for Yao Ming) so the edge goes to Coco there.

Originally, I would have said that Coco had the better team hands down, but now that I look at it, it's closer than I originally thought. I think that Coco still wins, but it really does deserve to be an 8 vs. 9 matchup, rather than the 9 vs. 4 matchup I thought it would be.

Coco built a better team, top to bottom than Flynnatic.

Coco's team has guys they can lean on offensively in transition and in the halfcourt. They'll be much better than Flynn offensively, especially with Martin off the bench. They can either run or play the slow game and I value that a lot in a team. Flynn's got great frontcourt defense, but Coco will be able to go with his good perimeter game to open up the inside.

I really like Flynn's fromtcourt and point guard, I think he has a pretty large advantage in those two positions. Love is just starting to tap into his potential but Noah and Lopez have proven it over longer stretches of time. I like Coco's bench a lot more than Flynn's. Coco also has a top 5 player on his team, something Flynn lacks. I am going to make my votes based off of who I think would win in a 7 game series, and in this matchup I have to lean slightly towards Coco. Assuming no injuries, I think Bynum/Love can match what Lopez/Noah bring to the table and Durant would have a pretty good series against Artest, IMO. the key is the bench - Kevin Martin and Michael Beasley will provide offense where Troy Murphy and Jamal Crawford won't. I'd take Coco's team in a 7 game series so he gets my vote.

Well not that everyone has their ESPN expert analysts I'm going to try and explain without looking dumb who has a better team.

IMO Coco has the better team. He's starting lineup is better offensively. Defensively I'd give to Flynn. Come to benches I'd give it to Coco but by a slight margin. I think they're matchup up Is pretty even.

Sorry Flynn but with my lame explanation that makes it 4 votes for Coco and advances to the next round.

Hold up, Love >>> Noah? i think its Love = Noah because they have similar playing styles, have the same stats and both have the same potential (only Noah was in the league 1 year more than Love)

As for Bynum >>> Brook, we have to take injury somewhat into play. The fact that Bynum HAS had injury problem is that HE IS injury prone. As injuries dont matter, thats BS because injuries are part the the game. who knows, Bynum gets hurt again. Its Brook

With Noah playing Love on D, off the bench we have for PF/C are

Flynn: Nene, Noah (at C), Jason Thompson, Troy Murphy

Coco: Beasley and Hansbrough

Off the bench, I have the advantage on the post.

Troy Murphy will be guarded by Deng or Hasnbrough or Beasley. They only one good at Perimeter Defense is Deng, and he's a SF. So he will be guarding Galo or Artest. As for crawford, calderon is overrated and cant play D. neither can Sessions. Crawford averaged 13 PPG last year with the starters, the fact he is on the decline, he will only put up 8 to 10 PPG in 3 years.

For the record, I was using the ">" buttom for formatting, so ">>>" was no different than ">" or ">>" in terms of saying who was better. For example, I wasn't using ">>>" to imply that someone was much better, or 3 times better than the other person. I just wanted to make the "" more visible. Similarly it was ytrb who came up with (and snuck in) the no injuries/assume everyone is healthy thing. One can't get mad at us for applying it.

If the injury rule wasnt in effect, id win this becuase bynum cant stay healthy. and injuries are part of the game, you have to take into effect that bynum WILL get hurt again

Honestly, I like Brook over Bynum injury or no injury
