Your T.V isn't on mute? I'm not even paying attention to the commentary.

No but not really paying attention. It's amazing how tolerable they are when you aren't passionate about the game.

Nevermind. McCarver just said something about Edgar getting a double play when no one was on base. 2004 "A walk is just as good as a home run" child please

Rated lower than last yr and lower than 2008's Game 1. Sufficed to say, this WS is on pace to have the lowest viewership in recent memory, something I predicted if these two made it

Yeah, not too surprised. Rangers-Giants isn't exactly a marquee matchup for the casual viewer. Oh well, I'm still watching. All I want out of this series is for it to go back to San Francisco. Can't believe there hasn't been a Game 7 since 2001.

Tim McCarver "Hamburgers were invented about seven miles from here (Arlington, Texas)".

Um, no Tim.....Ground beef patties were brought to Hamburg Germany by Russian merchants -200-300 years ago.

Minced beef can be traced so far back as the 15th century, the "Hamburg steak" or ground beef patty was invented in Germany in the 18th century.

But the "Hamburger" or ground beef patty sandwich , which is what MCcarver was referring to, was invented in 1904 in Texas.

But thanks for the input.

Well unfortunately that's how patents work.

And US patent No. US3987718 agrees with me. But i'm wrong, and this is "google fail" since i wasn't alive when the patent claim was made.

Oh well, such is the life of whippersnappers such as MCcarver and me.

I thought the first place to serve a hamburger was in Connecticut. I saw it on the Travel Channel. It still exists.

Incorrect, it was created in the 1800's or some other time period when you were alive but i wasn't. ;)

The Eagle Deli in Boston is #2. The #1 place is Louie's in New Haven, Ct. which claims to be the birthplace of burgers in the U.S.
