You lost a lot of us with the "if the NYY beat Cliff Lee in game 7 it will be the biggest comeback in baseball history" or whateelfver drivel you posted. So there is plenty of reason to rub it in your face. Sorry' date=' you brought it on yours.[/quote']

I took it back and said it would've been the worst come back in baseball playoff history, The Red Sox could've beat Lee without even trying, he would've no longer be unbeaten and his 1.1 ERA would've sky rocketed to 5.00 :D

Stop with the attitude. Your premise was wrong, and you were called out on it. Coming back from a 3-1 deficit is a feat that has been accomplished several times, and the fact that one particular pitcher would have been throwing on game 7 doesn't change the fact that coming back from 3-0 has only been done once in baseball history. So for the love of Jesus Christ, stop lowering the collective board IQ with this ********.

Thanks for editing my original post. Clever.

Nice comeback by the Yanks. I don't know why anyone would have been talking about the significance of their comeback if they made one. They were given a gift in game 1, and when you get a gift like that in a short series and retake homefield advantage, usually the team that gives away the game loses the series. Atlanta was a good example of that this year. Their defense gave away a game in the playoffs and got eliminated. The Yanks brain dead idiot manager gave the advantage back and lost the series with one stupid decision after another. If there was any comeback to be discussed in this series, it was the comeback made by the Rangers who suffered a devastating loss in game 1. They showed some surprising fortitude and beat the Yankees at every turn after game 1. Nice comeback by the Rangers. A nice choke by the Yankees -- losing three games started by immortals Colby Lewis and Tommy Hunter.

Yankees should have this one in the bag' date=' I don't see Colby Lewis keeping this offense from scoring this time around, Hughes should have a better game, if not they have Wood ready to come in the 5th and CC/Mo to close it out.[/quote']

Once the Yankees get knocked out' date=' I root for the quickest end to the WS. And while I dont hate the Rangers, I think it benefits us in the Lee race for him to not have won a world series prior to hitting FA. So, I am rooting for the Giants to win the next 5 games and get a head start on free agency[/quote']

I agree with the part about Lee. I think the best thing for the Yankees would be if the Rangers don't win the World Series. But I'm also a baseball fan, so I don't need the season to end a few days earlier than usual. Give me a couple game sevens, with the NL representative winning the World Series.

I like Cashman, but Eduardo Nunez should never be a deal breaker. That's awful.

EDIT: I realize this isn't anything new, but, in wake of the Yankees' elimination, we might as well revisit it.

There's dozens and dozens of websites that said it would've been of one of the greatest comebacks. I'm fine with changing my statement to "one of". I personally highly value pitching. If the Sox were down 2-1 and had to face Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum I would find that a more impressive then the Yankees coming back from 3-0 and winning several games in a row against guys with a 3-4 ERA. But I guess thats just me. :dunno: I apologize if I offended anyone

You're just too funny. How about you supply us those websites? LOL

No one's offended, or at least I don't think they are. I think everyone's really just laughing at how big a homer you are. Seriously, the three Yankee fans who spoke on the issue said this comeback, if completed, wouldn't even come close.

Carry on though, I could use some more memorable quotes, although I don't think anything tops your prediction where everything was 180 degrees opposite of what really happened.

But not as big as the choke they pulled off in 2004. Just as their so-called comeback would have fallen far short of what was accomplished by the 2004 Red Sox, you can take solace in the fact that the choke by the 2010 Yankees falls far short of their choke in 2004.

As far as the websites, I'm having trouble finding them again on Google now that the Yankees are out, and don't want to waste anymore of my time searching, only 10 teams have come back from 3-1, take it for what you will.

If I had a crystal ball to show me the outcomes of games, I would be a very wealthy man. Many people predicted the both AL/NL series would reach game 7. You make it sound like my prediction was completely absurd and the Yankees had no chance of winning going into that game 6.

Perhaps you're better at foretelling the future then I, would you care to say how the Vikings will end up this year?

You said the game was in the bag before it even started. I don't have that arrogant complex you have, that's all. Call yourself a Nostradumbass and move on man. When you said what you did, you should have realized the consequences if you were wrong, but even moreso, if the EXACT OPPOSITE happened, which is exactly what happened. That's why it's so classic, because now you're trying to play it off with an attitude, it's funny.

Just have a sense of humor and admit you were way off. It's funny if you don't let it bruise your ego.

MLB Network is just as bad in that crap. I'm glad I don't have it anymore. Except ESPN would find ever little thing to talk about the Yankees.

LOL this statement is so full of s***. Please show me that post. You took it back because no one was on your side. You were just getting ripped by everyone including your type of fans.

I don't have a attitude lol, but you're twisting my words, I said they SHOULD have it in the bag, I didn't say they WILL have it in the bag. If you didn't notice not a single person guessed the Rangers would win in 6.

Yanks in 5. Lee beats the Yankees in game 3 and signs with them in December.

I got the Yankees in 6.

Rangers in 7, with Clifton Phifer Lee, who is untouchable right now, winning two games, CJ Wilson winning one, and a fourth one being won in a slugfest.

.

I say Rangers in 7. Could go either way' date=' though.[/quote']

Yankees in 6

What does that have to do with anything? And it doesn't matter how I "twisted you words", you said they had it in the bag. no matter what the word that comes before it is. "should have it in the bag" is every bit as arrogant as "have it in the bag".

Give it a rest eh?

I'm not cocky Emmz, I just had some confidence that my 200 million dollar team would play better a 55 Million dollar team that hadn't even won a playoff game before this month. Also when the Yankees are knocked out of the playoffs its usually in the first round, not the ALCS/WS.

I'm ready to give it a rest though, I seems like we're just spinning around in circles. <_>

Interesting. Pettitte was dealing with leg and back issues prior to the ALCS and had to cut short a pen session prior to his start in NY. This might have been the reason for starting Hughes in game 2. Pettitte may not have been ready. Such is life when your #2 starter is 38 yrs old and coming off a 2 month layoff for a groin injury. It is time to move on.
