You're also flat-out lying when you say CC gave up "about two hard hit balls" since the Rangers were spraying liners all over the place.

Well he only allowed just two extra base hits

So screaming liners to CF that only go for singles aren't hard-hit balls? Ok.

Did you actually watch the game? And CC wasnt good. I have attested to that. But he was effective. And definitely lucky.

Yes, i did. Line-drives are hard-hit balls unless the definition has changed.

Also, my problem with your post is that your definition of "effective" seems to change depending on the uniform the pitcher is wearing. Stay consistent and you'll avoid being called out on it.

Haha' date=' I've probably said this in like three different posts before Jacko's.[/quote']

It's hard to argue that the results weren't effective when he gave up just 2 runs. I don't recall you stating that his pitching was ineffective, because it was. His results aren't the point. If you recall how this started, we were discussing how CC wasn't pitching very well, and we'd hoped to see him, considering how well the Rangers have hit him. So while the result was "effective", that's not really the point.

Dude, i just came back from eating like 12 steaks at a place called "Stir Max" i couldn't be happier right now, so i apologize if i sound pissy.

My point is, that next time Dice-K "makes a Dice-K" you better not call him ineffective!

Both starting pitchers look horrendous. It would be a huge failure on the part of the Yankees' offense if they don't get to this version of Colby Lewis tonight.

I don't think there's a debate if you want to use the word effective. Effective does not apply to the process, so you can't say his pitching was ineffective, because it produced a desirable result.

But none of this matter, because we completely agree (I think), and we're arguing semantics. Sabathia struggled, but ended up with a good final line. Those two things are undeniable.

Were the results of his fastball effective or not? That's all I want to know. Pitches themselves CAN be ineffective, and whether or not the result was "as intended", it's beside the point. The point was made that the Rangers have had CC's number, the word effective somehow got in there, which is beside the point. So like I said, do you believe that his fastball was effective, or not?

Hughes was also fortunate that inning. Kinsler smoked it' date=' and Murphy should have walked.[/quote']

But he was effective ;)

Well if you want to just talk about his fastball, then yes, that was ineffective. He consistently got bad results when throwing his fastball.
