If the rangers win this game does anyone really think that Joe Girardi will really have Burnett pitching game 4?

JG always change the rotation when facing us in the regular season? Would anyone be surprised?

Cashman said today that they will, the only other scenario i see is them asking CC if he'd rather pitch Game 4 or Game 5; possibly switching starts with AJ.

Girardi has logic behind him this time, although it isnt good logic. He's concerned about bringing Hughes back on short rest, but it isnt really short rest since Hughes only threw 4IP. And the question becomes, who would you rather see. Hughes, CC twice and Pettitte on short rest or Burnett once? It is a good strategy if it pays off. But it looks like autoloss right now and we cannot afford that

He's gonna look really good in pinstripes next yr. He takes it off, adds a little on, adds run, puts some cut on it, drops in the curve and can throw the change. Damnit, his stuff in isolation isnt awesome. But his location to all 4 quadrants makes him special. The thing that makes him so amazing is that he can come into someone's wheelhouse, but get it past them because he sets them up so well. Not many guys who throw 91-93 can do that with regularity and dominate. He does. Hank and Hal, get the blank check ready!

I like Cliff Lee as much as anyone, but what a stupid comment by Ron Darling. The 1-2 pitch to Thames was not the first time he missed his spot tonight.

Nice try, but you can't be happy about how good he is while he's pitching against your team in the playoffs.

Until the Yanks start going the other way, we arent gonna hit him. It's almost like every hitter is expecting a fastball down the middle up until they're down 0-2. The only pattern I have seen so far is down and away vs righties. That's the pattern thus far.

You guys got alot of free agents next year. You will have to overpay for Jeter.Jeter i am sure wants around 18 to 20 million dollars.I am sure the yankees arent gonna be the only ones bidding for Lee.

It'll probably be between the Yankees and the Rangers.

And then at some point you'll see him go in a ton against righties. He won't allow himself to establish an obvious pattern. Think Maddux.

The Yankees need to change focus, though. We're taking hittable pitches on the corners and waiting for cockshots. Lee misses in the center of the zone about 8 times per start (saw that stat somewhere on ESPN). 8 times. We have 8 swings at cockshots tonight, and who knows if they'll be changeups and we'll be out ahead of them, or cutters and they break a bat. We gotta start going after the ball a little and get out of our gameplan. He is EXACTLY the kind of pitcher that dominates us. Give us a flamethrower any day of the week. A crafty lefty with impeccable control will burn us

Lee will be in pinstripes next year, why else do you think they passed on a good deal to obtain Dan Haren earlier this season? Also I think Jeter knows he's past his prime and deserves a cut.

no not as a sox fan as baseball fans world wide. come out side and explore its fun i promise you

No, you're a sox fan and you are griping about financial inequities. You lost out on the playoffs to a team that has about 40% of your payroll

So your 100 percent Lee is coming to the Yankees?

Jeter doesnt have to ask for a cut.Are u kidding me?

So a .270 hitting soon to be 37 yr old SS can dictate his terms to NY? He doesnt deserve more than $8 million, but I dont see him signing for that. My guess is that he gets 2 yrs $30 mil.

99.9 :D , Lee will get the contract he wants; plus it doesn't hurt he has a bromance with CC from there days in Cleveland.
