Maddon messed up by throwing James Big Homer Shields in game 2 instead of Garza. He's helping eliminate his team and clear the way for the Yanks to win the the ALCS. Thanks, Maddon!! You f***ing stupid Drew Carey-looking dope. It's amazing how often major league managers out-smart themselves in the post season.

My thoughts extactly, Garza should've been on the mound today, it was a no brainer.

I don't know about that. I'd rather have Shields pitch in Tampa than in Texas, which would only exacerbate his HR problem. Granted, that brings in the question as to whether or not Shields should be starting a game in the series as all, but if Shields and Garza are starting games, I might take my chances with Shields here and Garza in Texas. Although I'd be more likely to not start Shields at all and go with Garza in game 2 and someone else in game 3.

It actually turns out to not be a bad idea. The Rays werent gonna hit today regardless. Now, they have Garza and Price going in Texas, which gives them the best chance of coming back to Tampa.

If Garza held them scoreless, CJ might have pitched differently and nibbled and elevated his pitch count. It could have changes the outcome. Shields gave them no chance.

Announcers just said that Pettitte can't find his release point and that he was looking at video between innings. The solution is easy for the release point. Take out the syringe when it is empty.

Big Game James. He's Big Game alright--big game for those placing bets against the Rays.

Hitless Wonders can't survive without pitching and defense. Much of what worked for them over the course of the season really disappeared over the last few weeks.

They've been playing more like the Pirates or Royals than a playoff club. It has shown.

Yeah, a few games out of a 162+ game schedule is everything. Totally.

There was a time when winning the regular season took you automatically into the World Series. Those days are long gone, Rip. Time to wake up.

The Rays were incredible in April and average to below-average in September. So yeah, the record over 162 games doesn't mean as much as the performances at the end.

This is actually a pretty good series. Both teams are relatively young and dynamic and they both had impressive seasons. I think the Rays are the better team, but they are in a big hole with Cliff Lee standing in their way. Texas has the offense to challenge the Yankees pitching staff and I really want the Yankees to lose.

Texas has a very good team and could be a serious threat for the next few years.

My prediction is that the Yankees are going to benefit from this significantly' date=' regardless who wins. But I got Lee in a big game[/quote']

Absolutely. No matter who wins, that team won't be able to pitch their ace until game three.

I'm really rooting for Texas here. They'll have home field advantage against the MFYs; the Yanks bats will choke against Cliff Lee; the Rangers haven't won a playoff series in years; their fans have to suffer through brutally hot summers to watch this team play and thus deserve this; and last but not least, the Rangers have David Murphy on their squad--one classy dude.

Not to mention...enough with the Rays and their lame ass stadium and prima donna players like Eva and BJ, whom I like to refer to as the white and black versions of A-Rod in their doucheyness.

Lee would probably not pitch until game 3. They would probably be down 0-2 before Lee gets the ball. CJ has a chance to beat them, but I'm wouldn't be real confident about it. The other guy pitching game two would just be a pinata.

f***' date=' here comes the rays cheap hits.[/quote']Go Rays!! They are the only team that can keep the Yanks from getting to the WS. I am rooting against my money here.
