I've only been checking the site briefly today, but it seems like most of the people who didn't send in their rankings were on today. TK or Ital, is the voting supposed to start tonight?

flynnatic told me he sent his in and divinity sent his in, so that should be 10

I think we should set a deadline of 8 ET tonight then just post up the rankings

I don't think TK is usually on during the weekends, so we may have to wait until Monday. I do agree though, 10 is enough.

I agree, although I'm sure that WhiskeyBreath will be on talkpats and I'd bet that Jbay will also be online by tomorrow, so if it's going to start Monday (which I think should be the plan) we can get their rankings in. And since they are frequent contributors (don't miss picks and they've done all 3 redrafts) I think that we should try to get their rankings as well, especially if there are any tiebreakers.

I have all of the rankings. Matchups coming.

Couple questions TK.

Can we vote for ourselves (my opinion is that we shouldn't)? And because of the complicated nature of football schemes, should we explain prior to the voting about how we plan on utilizing our personnel, or is that unnecessary and something that might slow this down and deter people?

I definitely think that we should explain why we'd win each matchup BEFORE anyone is allowed to vote. That way, the team owners won't be able to vote in each matchup, but they can explain their thought process and point out things that some other people won't notice. And it gives both team owners time to defend themselves before the people vote.

For example, let's say Kilo puts an 8 seed vs. a 9 seed. The owners of those 2 teams would be the first ones to post in the thread and explain their scheme, and why they think they'll win, and THEN people can vote.

In addition, we should figure out how many votes we'd need to move on.

Agreed on all counts. I do, however, think that there should be a time limit for people to post their explanation before voting begins.

Something else that could work is if everybody PM'D Kilo why their team should win (or how they are going to use their team and whatever they want to put) and he could post each teams reasonings when he posts the match ups.

Wouldn't we have to know who we are playing so we could tell how we would defend different players?

It's not even necessarily about how you would play the opposing team, but just your basic schemes on offense and defense.

I like ital's idea. Here's how it will work...I am going to post all of the matchups at once. Owners will have until Monday at 8:00 AM to explain their rationale for why people should vote for their teams. Starting at 8:00 Monday, a 48 hour voting window starts. After the 48 hours, the team with the most votes advances until we have a winner.

True, but if the rankings are posted we would know who we are playing. I did a redraft on another site and the guy running it had everybody PM him reasoning to why their team would win the match up and how they would use their team. It worked really well.

Should the rationale be aimed at how your team would approach the opposing team, or should it just focus on your own basic offensive and defensive schemes?

Team v team

Just for clarification' date=' injuries do matter in this, unlike the NBA redraft, right?[/quote']

It depends. They do count, but I am NOT holding injuries against a person who drafted the player BEFORE they got injured. However, if a player was injured BEFORE they got drafted, then I'd take that into consideration (ie Bob Sanders and Kris Jenkins)

HOW I'M I f***ING LAST! DID THEY LOOK AT MY TEAM

It's only getting shafted if you didn't have it coming. For the record, I didn't put you last, but there had to be a reason why a lot of people did. It'll probably be explained to you in your first round matchup. There's a reason though why you were near the bottom of the mlb power rankings and why you're at the bottom here, and it has something to do with drafting locker room cancers and a lot of Cleveland Browns players.
