I still think we should have a thread where everyone explains why their team is good before doing power rankings...but whatever

For some reason I lost my internet for about an hour, right when I was going to watch some porn, so I had to go back to a few magazines and thinking about my roomate's sisters like I was Abe f***** Lincoln, only to get internet back an hour later.

 

Anyway, in the interim I had enough free time to do my powerrankings. I honestly think that people are going to vote the way they are going to vote regardless of what we say defending our own teams.

My team is going to be lower than I think it should be, because nobody is going to realize how stacked my O-Line, running game, and defense is. I think I have the best O-Line, best running backs, and 2nd best defense

I don't know about all of that, but I do think that you have a good team. I have you in my top 5.

Really, I think you're a fringe top 5 defense. No higher than 4th, no lower than 6th defensively.

 

Also, I wouldn't say your O-Line is "stacked". It's good, one of the best, but definitely not "stacked".

 

Still though, I think you have one of the better teams, you're in the upper half of my rankings too.

My point is, other than whoever is ranked 1st and maybe 2nd, I think that everyone will think that their team is ranked lower than it should be. That's why we aren't ranking ourselves in the power rankings or else we'd all put our own teams near the top.

 

I mean think about how many people thought their team was underranked in the NBA redraft.

Oh okay, it was just that in the middle of the draft, somebody did power rankings of their teams so far, and I was 9th or 10th, which surprised me. I'd be pleased with a top 5 seed.

 

I'm going to probably rank this in 7 parts: Passing game/Running Game/Blocking/D-Line/Linebackers/Secondary/Special Teams

I agree, although some factors I'm paying more attention to now (ie the 7 parts you had) and there are other parts I'm not focusing on as much now but that I'll focus on in the individual matchups (ie coach, way the team is build with bench players, injuries, versatility, and various x factors)

Some of those things (QB and pass rush/pass defense) should be weighted more heavily than others in my opinion.

Yeah, I did what I did (except I ended up seperating QB and receivers) and then factored in other things like what you and ital posted to try to determine which teams I liked best based, partly based on the numbers I got and partly on instinct

Interestingly enough, for the people in the NBA ReDraft, my rankings in both leagues were rather similar with a few people varying.

Make sure to get Kilo your power rankings. I wouldn't wait for Youker to do it though. I'm wondering if we should start an MLB redraft and do it in the future and with a salary cap or something like that. I just think that since this is a baseball site, that we'd get a lot of people that would want to do something like that, rather than the 10 or so teams that did it the first time around.

That means that Jbay, WhiskeyBreath, Boston22407, Flynnatic, Youker, and Divinity need to send in their rankings. (I'm assuming that RSFFL sent in his rankings at this point, and that MSU isn't going to send in rankings or that Kilo would count his vote twice for him and MSU)
